I am looking for an S. I found this one not to far away, wanted to know what I should look out for when I look at the car. Also how much you guys think I can get this for. I was thinking I could get them down to $18,5 or do you guys think thats to low. Let me know what you guys think.

FYI- I just purchased an excellent 2004 with less then 6,000 miles for $16,700.
See, that's an excellent price. I have only seen two advertised in the $16k range and one of them was obviously raced and the other had been damaged and repaired. Both still drove very well, but weren't for me.

I live in New England and have gone through the research of looking nationally as well as locally within a 300 mile radius. There are very few S2000s around my area in dealerships within the price range I want to pay with the mileage I want on them. Damn budgets! Anyway, shipping in open transport from as far away as Texas to Hartford, CT was pretty reasonable at $600, so that opened up quite a few opportunities in places I don't have the time or the budget to travel to at the present time.

bmms8 - I live in Central Connecticut, and I agree with you on the sanity thing... I was sooo close to getting a car that was 5th on my color list that I am glad it fell through. I would have regretted not waiting. Whereabouts are you? I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya!

Looks pretty good, especially if no scratches, dents, etc. The drivers seat is a good thing to check out, the left bolster in particular, make sure seats are okay, the leather in these cars is very thin, and seats are verrrry expensive to repair. Check for tears in the top, in the back braces, look at the outside and the inside of the fabric. Theres probably more, engine related, but that's a start.

the price is a little high i think so maybe you can talk them down a little bit but besides that the car looks meticulously maintained.

I'd obviously go for the 2007, you'll get it cheaper, it has less miles and it's the exact same car.

chili - i am in the DFW in Texas. there are plenty of cars here, im just hoping that a couple dealers i am trying to work with budge in 2 weeks. i just dont want to end up missing on a deal for a couple hundred dollars

lilsharky - i think both dealers are asking a little too much. i wouldnt pay more than $21,000 and $22,500 respectively. good luck

I'm in MA but there are none around here with the mileage/year I am looking for and this was the closest one I found. I was going to see if I could get them to $18,500, so you guys think I should get them lower? I really wanted to see if I could get them to low $17k but I thought that was pushing it.
