it looks a little high. I don't know how much value you want to place on KBB, but i have some numbers for you to ponder.

2003 w/ 15000 miles, zip code 60601(chicago) $13,650 PPV excellent

" w/ 70000 miles " " " " $12,400 PPV excellent

since there should generally be fewer lower mileage vehicles as they age, i would assume that they(lower priced older cars) become harder to price IMO, so it's possible that KKB or other pricing guides might not represent an accurate value again, IMO.

but 18,000 seems more than a little steep.

I'm having a hard time moving a 2002 with 78k miles, slipping clutch for $10k

There's actually a thread for these questions if you look down the page..
I'm sorry, I've been here long enough I should have figured that out.

Go ahead and merge this if you need to clean it up.

BTW: This car is pristine! like factory new.

The other problem I see with paying well over bluebook for a car is, what happens if someone hits you or you get in an accident and it gets totalled? Good luck trying to get the insurance company to pay you >$4k over blue book. But hey, something is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. I would just tell folks to keep this in mind when purchasing a car.

Be it my fault or not should a car be totalled, I would hate to pay $4k over blue book, to only have an insurance company cut me a check for blue book..

I'm not so much worried about that. To me the low mileage is worth in excess of the KBB because I'm seeing so few of the cars available below 50K miles.

That being said, I don't want to get taken

2000, 40,000 Miles, Dual Invidia Exhaust, VAFC Controller, AEM intake, Updated top with glass

$12,000, comes with OEM exhaust and intake

Do I have to worry about this VAFC thing, or can it just sit?

Looks like a great deal if everything checks out.

there's a saying in spanish, "cuando la limosna es grande, hasta el santo desconfia," translated roughly to "when the donation is great, even saints distrust."

or the common saying in english would be, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is."

caveat emptor. but i guess worth a looksie.

Did I pass up a good deal?

One panel had been replaced, there was a ding in the door, but the interior was mint. I offered 10,000. I probably would have offered me, but I wasn't allowed to drive the thing because it wasn't registered. He took me for a spin, and it seemed fine, but it's impossible for me to get a feel for the clutch.

MY2000, Silver on Black and Red, Heated Seats (nice install), Dual Invidia, AEM intake, VAFC Controller, listed at 11,500. 45,000 Miles.

Idk, just couldn't bring myself to offer more for a car I never got to drive.

No, when dealing with used cars, there will always be a better deal that presents itself. The question is should you wait, would you wait, you're foregoing months of enjoyment, summer is coming, the best time of the year to enjoy a convertable.

When someone says, be patience, you'll find a better deal. I always chuckle and say to myself, yeah, wait till next year, they'll be cheaper, or the year after. If you want one for the summer, just find the best priced one in best possible condition and buy it. 500 more, 500 less, whatever.
