Are you asking about buying one for that price? It's an excellent price, make sure to get a mechanic to check it out before buying to make sure it hasn't been in any fender benders. Retail value for 40k miles is $19,800.
If it's a dealership, tax and dealer bs sucks

Well, I am new here to these forums.. but I want some answers. I've got no real questions specifically.. but I am wanting to buy an s2000.

There is one close by for $10,500. A 2001, with 90,100 miles.
Here's some pics of it and info on it.

Meticulously maintained with records. Go fast upgrades: AEM cold air intake; Apexi World Sport catback exhaust; DC Sports header; all installed by modifyd Performance, Wichita, Kansas. Montegi 17 inch rims with Kuhmo EcstaAsx All Season Extreme tires; new rears, fronts good. A one-of-a-kind car for a one-of-a-kind person. Serious inquiries only. Full 90,000 mile maintenance done on 6/16/2009

An older man drives it.. so I don't think it's been driven too hard.

What do I need to look for if I go out and test drive it? What goes wrong with them? What areas do I need to pay attention to?

I've always loved s2k's, and just now am getting a good chance to get my hands on one haha..

Any help is appreciated. thanks!

I do not see someone modifying the car with all those performance goodies and not getting some enjoyment out of them. If I were you I would assume that the car was not babied all of its life. Just my two cents.

Try the search function: buying an S what to look for.

Good luck.

Truth. Car looks beat to heck. And is it the angle of the pics or are the bottoms of all sides paint black? If you do decide to buy it I would pay no more than 8k for it.
