Found an 04 AP2 with 77K miles. Mechanically, it looks and sounds fine but the body has a lot of cosmetic marks/scratches. Definitely wasn't repainted and all panels line up right though. New tires and brakes. Needs passenger side latch for the roof. Clean Carfax and the dealer wants $15k for it. worth it?

Agreed on $15k last night which was high but fair. I can tell it wasn't in an accident and everything else checked out ok. I found 4 so far with clean car faxes but visible repainting, overspray in the air vents, off bumpers, misaligned trunks, etc.
I told them I just wanted a mechanic to double check everything today and if he ok'd it, i'd buy the car. Today, i call to confirm an appointment at 6 pm and the car is apparently on a lift cause the "clutch went out" after a test drive this morning. They installed a new clutch but claimed there was no break in period for clutches. I said no thank you, i'm no longer interested. Sales person texts me after bragging that he sold the car for $17900 without a test drive.

damn red with only 38k. I would pay good money for that. If that was my car I would start at 20k and then see what offers I would get. I would say haggled down to 18

I definitely think you can get lower. Its a 2000. You can find 02+ or AP2s for 18-19k with that mileage.
