I'd say $23-25k is about right, $28k is high.

Found an s2k and agreed on a price but found out that it has an accident on record. Damage to the left rear driver side. Not disabling. I drove it and the car seems to jerk a lot as if the driveline is very tight if you don't shift perfect. Also, the car has an x brace and vibrates quite a bit on start up, is this common? Anyways, the agreed price (before I found out it had an accident) was $13,500, is this still a good deal? car is in great condition cosmetically and shows zero issues. Is there anything I should check before I fork over the cash?

I'd have this one checked out on a laser alignment rack or a laser guided frame stretcher at a body shop. I had a similar rear end impact on a soft top NC miata. The bumper was the only panel damaged, but the top would bind slightly when you put it up and down and the transmission shifted as you describe. The insurance company totaled it rather than trying to fix it once I notified them of these 2 things. It still may be a great price, but you may also be dealing with premature wear on the driveline and a less than perfect transmission, if this is the case.

He claims there was no frame damage and it was only body, I actually just found out from him it wasn't just the rear he had the impact on the whole drivers side which makes me a little less worried about tweaking the frame of it but still, not trying to get a lemon. Another question, he said it has an AP1 transmission, any benefit or detriment about it?

So he's misrepresented the car already. Look, you can buy it, but you're already not getting straight answers, and you will be taking a risk. Get a serious inspection done with a laser alignment at minimum. Better to also take it to a bodyshop though and let them tell you about the repairs.
Never believe a seller, especially one where you've already caught them misrepresenting the car.

think I can get 20k for my gpw ap2v1?

-2005 s2000
-130k miles
-Second owner. Original owner traded this into the dealership for an Accord.
-I've owned since 2009. No accidents.
-Brand new softop. This is the second time I have replaced it. ~$2000 installed
-Seats redone with new foam
-2016 style Alpine Bluetooth headunit
-Modifry stereo controls
-Recently replaced clutch, throttle body, starter, battery, engine mounts, etc with OEM parts at the dealership.
-Never drilled for front license plate
-AZ car it's whole life - no rust
-Never tracked
-Garaged most of its life
-Never left me stranded.
-100% stock

The bad-
-Rear bumper has a small ding
-Some chips in the paint
-Driver seat has a little fading
-Wheels all have curb rash

Based on my search earlier this year I think you are at least $5K high on your Asking price. My 2 cents is it should sell around $13-14K with those miles and the curb rash, etc. It is a color that seems to do well. Good Luck!!!!

Agree to disagree.

just an fyi for people reading this thinking I'm delusional- the dealership offered me 15k recently. private party is always going to be higher than that.
