Looking at $ 30,000 Cnd. and there was in the range of 30 to 35 % between Cnd. and USA dollar and I feel with the hardtop it's a solid deal .

Interested in knowing you thoughts as lot more of these in states than here in Ontario Canada . Also I have been involved in Pro Stock's and did oil changes and strait forward maintenance on my other car's but at 66 tired of the on back deals so would appreciate knowing where on this site since I'm all green to the site as to where would I ask who here in Ontario could inform me of closest very knowledgeable mechanic and a guy familiar with suspension upgrades , light mod's as far as performances , tires and wheels as tires that used on this car altogether different than the Mustang's .

Any information much appreciated as I really into the S Regards Doug
when that car was new, it retailed for around $53,000 canadian, factor in the hard top for anther $4000, plus the taxes (our HST is death) and $30,000 sounds like a deal. However, considering when the dollar was at par 2 yrs ago...

There is no need to modify this car- until you figure it all out as Honda intended. Its not like the fox body mustangs where $1000 in aftermarket parts and fun times entail. The s2000 is highly tuned from honda so don't expect dramatic "improvements". Ok, the stereo is just bad so you'll get an aftermarket upgrade.

Light mods? K and N FIPK, UK exhaust mod, and for the '06+, flash pro is your best bet. oh, yes...and 200 tread wear tires all day long. the most money you can afford for tires. Aftermarket wheels are a pain to find- the s2000 has really high offsets around +55. Its tough to find quality rims. Cost no object, the Mugen rims are extra tasty crispy!

and not to put down your "mechanic buddy", but this car has peculiarities that your knowledgeable friend likely does not know about unless he owns one (spark plug torque, s2ki rear axle nut, tight exhaust valves etc). The factory manual is the bible. This site is where you will learn how to keep your S alive.

good luck

Hey s2ki, looking for some feedback on a good selling price for my S2000. Sadly may have to part with it soon.

MY 2000 Silverstone with 41,000 miles.
Mostly stock with exception of:
-New Ohlin DFVs, K&N intake, Billman TCT, upgraded AP2 valve retainers/keepers, AP2V2 wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
-Bunch of maintenance such as brake pads, rotors, stainless lines, brake fluid, tranny/diff/cluth fluid, 4-wheel alignment.
-Compression test revealed a clean bill of health. Great numbers across the board.
-Original top is in great shape. Replaced the straps recently.
-All black interior is in great shape. Alpine headunit with new speakers all around. Viper paging alarm.
-Upgraded HID bulbs to authentic Philips CBIs.
-Will replace my aftermarket exhaust with the OEM piece.
-Non-rolled fenders, hacking of the exterior.
-Some rock chips on the nose from daily driving. Not dings/dents. Paint is nice.

I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of stuff, but this is the gist of it. The car is absolutely solid and doesn't need a thing. Open to hearing back your thoughts!

Lastly, would it be better to sell the car with the stock suspension as opposed to with the Ohlins?

Mike

List it at 19k, you can easily get at least 17k.

Low miles, good condition, ap2 wheels with great tires, OEM lip based on the picture, suspension cuz its a good brand, all help

Leave suspension on but tell people you can remove it and cut down on the price if necessary.

What exhaust is currently on the car ?

rear 25mm wheel spacers
skunk 2 shift knob
It also has a 72k mile ap2 tranny just swapped in last winter with a ballade sports clutch,82k mile ap2 diff just swapped in, new front brakes and rotors, and unknown air intake. Oh and a new Robbins soft top.
I also have all the oem parts (exhaust, catalytic converter, shift knob and much more) In good condition and runs great just a few very small paint scratches. So how much do you think it's worth?

get it back to as stock as possible. 12k

sell the extra parts for cheap, make some extra cash

Hey appreciate the feedback! Based on what I've seen, I think I can get at least 16k for it with the Ohlins included. Maybe I was a little low. But the mileage is a great selling point for I have going for it. 17k shouldn't be much of a stretch. The exhaust is a 70mm Berk HFC and EVS 70SSP.

Hey Fellas,

This is my second post, so if there is anything wrong with my post apologies and feel free to flog me.

I'm looking to get into my first S2000 soon. I've been looking around in SF for one since I live in the area. But I have also been looking around LA since its not that far away. I don't want to spend more than 20K, and less would be better. I wanted to hear your take on the following S2000, which I would try to get down to 18K. Right now its a 2007 black with 80,000 miles asking around 21,995.

Here is the link to the S2000: [post='Black S2000']http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?endYear=2017&zip=94305&listin gId=426319210&mmt=%5BHONDA%5BS2000%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D% 5D&modifySearchId=117695083&lastExec=1461293597000 &modelCode1=S2000&sortBy=distanceASC&startYear=200 4&makeCode1=HONDA&showcaseOwnerId=54471071&firstRe cord=0&numRecords=100&searchRadius=0[/post]

I've been reading a lot through the forums so I've read through the buyers guide of what to look for. I would definitely get it checked by a mechanic in the area. Does anyone have any recommendations of a good mechanic to inspect the vehicle?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If it checks out clean, 18k would be a good deal. Looks clean except for the usual driver side bolster abuse from a lard-ass. Tires, brakes, service records, never modified (?) - all thing to consider. Post in the Bay Area forums and ask for a mechanic for your pre-purchase inspection. We have some of the best in the the business when it comes to the S2k (Joey, Blacktrax etc).

Hey guys,

Completely new member here but am planning on buying a new car soon have been looking at the s2000 a lot over the past few days. I don't know a ton about the car yet, so was hoping you guys could give me some input on this listing-

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...499863150.html

Pros are obviously the newer model year, decent mileage, and looks gorgeous. The soundsystem and seat upholstery also are definitely welcome additions (although the LED dials seem a bit gaudy.)

Things that seem slightly concerning are that the LED tachometer makes me think that the owner maybe wasn't so easy on the car. Also, he notes that the "truck release" (trunk) doesn't work, although I'm not sure how impactful that is. Also, it's not terribly comforting to have him only include the spare key and "mail the main one when he finds it".

So a) is this car worth purchasing at all? There are plenty of other options, but the cheap-er listing, beautiful interior and color, and newer model are making me really like the car.

and b) given the concerns, what would be a reasonable amount to pay/offer for this?

Thanks from a hopeful s2000 owner!

That one looks good tome for the mileage and price. Nice color too. But don't take my word for it as I'm looking for one myself and have never actually owned one.

I'm looking to buy my first s2000. I'm pretty much set on silver exterior and black interior. I found a 2006 with 57k miles for $18500. The only problem is it is 550 miles away. It is the best deal I've seen anywhere within possible purchasing distance though. I just missed a 2005 with 51k for 17,800.

Yeah, I have no idea how to post a link in the year 2016.

Edit:It worked!
