Official Is This Car Worth It Thread vol 3
I'm searching for my first S2000 and am a bit overwhelmed by the range of pricing. I've done a ton of reading on this site and it has helped a lot.
I drive a VW R as a DD so this is a toy for nice days.
My question relates to a 2002 Suzuka Blue Metallic with blue interior. It has 35,000 miles (at a dealer) and they are asking $17,000. Only mod I can see is an aftermarket Invidia exhaust. I need to travel 4 hours to see it, but from what I have researched it sounds like a fair deal considering the miles. Original paint, top is leak-free and the interior is clean. Hard to judge paint from pictures.
Does this sound like a fair price? It is difficult to know where to jump into a S2000 price-wise. I can the same amount on a higher mile AP2, but the low miles on this one is attractive to me.
Thank you in advance for your counsel.

That same yellow AP2 with ~60k miles for $19k was in California too I might add. So, this Silverstone you're looking at had better blessed by Shigeru Uehara San if it's asking for $22.5k
Unless it has a hard-top, I feel like a perfect 2004 silverstone at that mileage should be asking 17-17.5k. If I were buying, I'd want to be closer to 16 flat on that car. That is if everything else checks out and it is in great condition, maintenance records, etc. I don't think the market supports a not rare 2004-2005 at 18k+ for a private sale but i could be wrong. I've never truly shopped in that price range for an s2k.

Found a totally stock single owner 07 GPW with 42,000 and a spotless Carfax. Has one small scuff/bump on the rear bumper. I would assume all VIN stickers are present but the seller kind of seems to be the type that wouldn't really know about those.
$28.5k. It's unicorn level but even then it still sounds pretty high to me.
