OEM Driverside fenders can go for about 150-200 used. (color wont be 100% match)
S2000 does not come with a tonneau cover.
Jack points normally wear like that. Its normal.
Hood latch is like $30 on ebay
rotors will run you about $200 for centric

I mean the door is gonna cost about 400-500 to fix with paint. I would get a fender and have them blend the door and the fender.

The car has high millage, but I guess for the price asking. It isn't too bad given the info.

I would highly suggest checking the motors compression, Diff, and transmission.

the first thing you will do once you buy any 06+ Ap2 is go get a valve adjustment. I doubt it was ever done on this car.

Here is another member selling, but he is in Illinois.

Thanks for the info! My biggest worry is the rear tire wear (bad alignment hopefully?) and not getting screwed on resale value with a body repair on the carfax if I go to sell it later on. I know that if I replace the fender one of the vin tags will no longer match, and I really want to make sure I get a good pain job out of it because I don't want to look like garbage if the pain doesn't match.

Depending on what people say here I might try and ask the dude if I can take it for a longer test ride and do a compression test as well.

If he is serious about making a sale, then having the car inspected prior to a sale should not be a problem. If he rejects these things, then move on.

The rear tire could be due to a blown shock/ saggy springs. These cars aren't new; so its standard wear and tear.
But also alignment, and i would check all the bushings, and the boots as well to make sure there is no cracks, leaks, grease, or missing grease.

There is also the possibility of a bent rear subframe.

What's the take on this one that just sold on ebay? 2005, 27k miles. There are a few paint problems, and the hood's been cut up, but otherwise it looks clean. The seller was a bit sketch though, and avoided to responding to a request for an in person inspection. Anyways, seems like a good price and I hope it turns out to be a good value to whoever bought it.

I would stay away from that one. You're looking at at $1000-2000 in work just to get it back to how it should be. And then another couple hundred dollars for an inspection to make sure there was no damage from the accident and have it be missing a few vin tags that isn't a HUGE deal with that mileage but it would sell quicker with all 10 tags. Also, there is a black 07 in Atlanta with like 140k miles the guy has been trying to sell for almost 6 months for 11,500 obo and ir still hasn't sold so there is no way a car that's a year older with 35k more miles is worth 11,500. If that's all the money you have to spend, it might be worth looking into ap1's since you can pick then up with a little over 100k miles for 10k and under

Hi all,

I have owned Detroit steel for years, but am in the process of buying an 2001 Honda S2000 with approx 72,000
The price offered and accepted is a little under $14,000
First question, is this a good deal ?
Second question, are there any problems I should be aware of in the 2001 model year ?

Thanks in advance for your input and thoughts.

Welp, the seller just texted me and told me he (supposedly) sold it last night for full price. If that's true, I'm not sure how to feel for the buyer, based on what everyone was saying, lol.

Supposedly...for full price... I had a seller do something similar to me with this car:

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/5798765411.html

This car is in much worse condition than the one you were looking at and it's still on the market. Meanwhile a 2005 in good condition with 30k miles and a $3500 aftermarket stereo just sold for less than $18k in the same area.

Hold tight, the right one will come. Winter is a buyer's market.

Be thankful because you would've overspent and had to put in a ton of time and effort to fix it! Now you can look for clean cars that aren't wrecked. Whats your budget?

So you think there's a chance he didn't sell it and just didn't feel like dealing with me? I was very thorough, and I did ask a ton of questions, but someone who knows these cars should, and I'm new, lol. If I see his ad up in a week or two I guess I'll know.

The attractiveness of this particular car to me was that it was an 06 AP2 @ $10k or less. I don't mind one that needs a little work, just as long as things are repairable for a reasonable amount, and won't ruin the value of the car after being repaired or replaced. I don't want anything that needs a new motor or any sort of frame damage obviously. If I can find another at a similar price I'd go look again.
