Look at what my wife gave me for my birthday.
We were taking the roof off and she let the little mounting spike hit the wing. Doh
LOL...
Here's my contribution!
Wonder how many CR had the same tattoo..
I wish I can blame it on my wife instead this was a good friend of mine.
Yes, he is still a good friend of mine.

as soon as i saw that, i knew exactly what it was.... hasn't happened to me yet, but i def forsee it coming in the future. with all the diff people that help me with my roof, it is bound to happen some time. sorry.
Got it buffed out today, it isn't perfect but nobody but me will ever know it's there.
I actually wasn't that bothered by it. I bought it as a track car primarily so stuff is going to happen to the car. The only reason I got it fixed was because my wife was so upset about doing it.

That's never been a problem for me because I usually take it off/put it on by myself. Since you have to lift it so much differently, the likelyhood of that kind of damage is pretty small. Of course the prospect of dropping the entire top onto the car has crossed my mind more than once...

How do you take it off by yourself do you have a crane

Well, it isn't heavy, just awkward and I certainly would not suggest that someone of average stature/strength should try this. The consequences of dropping it are just too great. But I am a big guy with an even bigger ego, so I tried once when my wife was out of town and the weather warmed up unexpectedly... and it worked, so now I know it can be done... But if the wife happens to be home when I need the top on or off, I still use her services sometimes.
After I unlatch all 4 latches, roll down the windows, and put on my nice soft/sticky leather gloves, I stand on the drivers side with the door closed, grab the center of the lower edge of the glass with the right hand and slide the left hand up under the center of the headliner and LIFT. Once I have it tilted up so the top surface is more or less facing me, I back away from the car, walk over to a nice soft mat I lay on the floor, and carefully lower the top, glass edge first onto the mat. Then I can spin it around so it's easy to lift onto my PVC pipe storage rack. I then get my wife to help me hang the rack on the wall. I haven't had a need to try that by myself yet, and don't think I'd want to.
Once again, PLEASE don't try this unless you are pretty sure you can pull it off. Think about how much a repair is going to cost you if you screw up... And don't blame me if you do...
