True ur right on that both cars are different platforms. Now when u say u gained 40hp in some areas what does that mean. I would like to know if you did a dyno before and after the mods and the tune?? And if u do have a dyno sheet if u could maybe post it or pm me it i would like to see not the numbers as much as the how do i say it the power curve on it. U might have just changed my mind in puting a header and exaust on my car. The only main reason i did not want to is for auto x i hear they take away points for that. And do to the fact that sometimes mods can make a dd more fun at first but later on a pain in the butt and for sure u would know that with the STI. Man that had to be a pain moding that thing i use to help my buddy out with mods and to do one little thing it seemed like we had to take way to many parts off and move things around for one mod. Now if u dont auto x the car and just like playing around on some streets and don't mind the louder noise than i would be all for moding the CR. But im trying to keep her as stock as possible for auto x. But by the sound of it u might have changed my mind with this how the feel in difference before the mods and tune?? Because a header and exaust with a tune i could deal with for a real 40whp gain but if its just 40 and not to the wheels i would stay stock thanks for the insight hope to see the dyno graph if u got one
Its all about area under the curve! Peak numbers are way less important than the area of power you have. And if he had a full stand-alone for a custom tune, he would pick up even more power. The reflash is somewhat more of a generic tune. It doesn't tune to your specific set-up obviousy.
I have had the pleasure of taking a little ride in ScutrCR's car, and it is without a doubt making some good power, and it is smooth all the way through!
So if you're expecting to go from ~210whp to 250whp with just a couple of bolt-ons, then you are going to be dissapointed. But there may be points in your graph when you were at say 160whp stock and you may increase that to 195whp @ that particular point in the graph which is a 35whp gain! While in fact you may only go from 210whp to 220whp peak, you will be gaining a lot more all over the powerband.
And if you don't think that is worth it or beneficial, then you are sadly mistaken.

ScutrCR is just saying to you that "peak numbers" are a small part of the story, meaning he may not have gained 40 peak hp, but there is a point in his dyno where he had 40whp more than he had stock.

Thanks man but i know that its not about the nubers thats why i asked if i could see his dyno graph not for the numbers but to see the power curve. And i do know the difference between a tune and a flash in evo most of us just use a flash they work great for our motors. But i tend to see the honda world works better with a stand alone like AEM. But thanks for telling me like i said im not new to moding or tuning a car in the least had a Cobra and a Evo worked on all my roomates cars for them which were a supercharged RSX type s, GTI,RX8 with light mods and a STI. I just wanted to see where this gain was and im not into numbers but more into the feel of the gains and the time slip thanks though for the help
Ouch, one of my friends did the same thing with the vinyl around the winshield. At least I'm not the only one. Well, that stinks, but get some touch up paint and don't give yourself a stoke over these things like I do!
