For those that have driven a stock ITR, can someone give a comparison on the sound levels in the cabin. I'd imagine them to be roughly the same as they both share the same loss of sound deadening / insulation.

Looking at moving from my ITR to a CR and was just curious.

Stock vs. stock, a CR is louder inside. You'll forget all about that once you start really driving it.

I thought the CR was quieter than my AP1! I would get buffeting from the soft top when up...but then again I only had it up in the rain. The hardtop muffles noise a bit better...maybe I'm just really used to S2000's.

Hey guys... Quick question. What kind of mileage did your cars have on them when you picked'em up? I've found a few examples after searching, but a lot of them have 50+ miles... Some of them 100 miles.

My question is, would you guys pick up a CR with 100 miles on it, knowing how the test drives go?

I realize that the warranty only starts the expiration countdown from the point-of-sale mileage, but I worry about damage that could be done to the car during test drives a lot. Am I just being paranoid?

I agree completely, either S is much quieter with the hard top on than with the soft top up. On the CR, the hard top just doesn't make as much difference as it did on my AP1.

I agree with ckit. Between the Comptech intake/exhaust and the soft top of my Ap1 the CR is very very quiet. Its weird.

...Although I do hear every grain of sand the RE070s sling into the wheel well.

Thanks for the replies guys. Was out again in it today, and i think part of my perception of the engine noise had to do with my turning up the radio real loud to compete with it lol. With it off today, engine noise wasn't as objectionable. But I do need to look into the window seal noise. It looks like it's coming from the lower, rear corners. Maybe I can get the dealer to have a look next time I'm there, and I may look into a little more weather stripping. Car has been a blast though so far otherwise!

I'm not sure that I'd trust the dealer to do much. It's not a car they do much work adjusting that sort of thing.

There was a thread a few years ago about quieting that hardtop noise. I usually drive with the windows down, but I'll try to find that thread for you.

I think it entailed adding a little wind baffle to the part of the hardtop behind the rear seal.

EDIT: Hahaha. I was the one who made that thread....

rikhemi found that some of the noise was actually coming from underneath the hardtop by the window and that weather stripping underneath those corners helped things.
