I do the same with my XM antenna. It's in the left front corner of the dash and I have no dropped signal issues. Mine is the Traffic enabled Garmin/Zumo disc antenna if that makes any difference. (No condecending Smilie implied here)

hi all CR owners, i'm thinking of picking up a CR. i understand the CR stock is a great car by itself, but i want to mod it.....at least add coilover to lower it for looks and i do track from time to time. so i'm not ur typical boy ricer who "slams" his car and make it 2" off the ground and think i'm cornering like it's on rails. (hahah i'm sure u've all read those comments b4)

would u recommend picking up a non CR and mod it? but i really like the CR look........or is adding tein mono flex on the CR make it as good as original suspension set up? any CR owners with mods on their car?

thanks guys
Modifying a limited production/special edition of car is a risky action as it lowers the resale of an already niche market car, thus limiting your appeal and market to an already small crowd.

No offense to your suspension choice but it is very unlikely that you or the parts you have chose are likey to truly improve both the ride and/or the handling of the CR beyond what the factory engineers have designed.

One would need a very serious suspension setup (think Motons) to truly improve the handling characteristics of the car.

I would suggest purchasing a standard new S2000 or a slightly used model as it would be a better value to you for what you intend to do to the car.

If you really want to replicate the look of the car, you can purchase most of the CR specific parts (i believe at hardtopguy.com) and replicate the look yourself.

^ Agreed. The stock suspension is plenty competent, especially for the weekend warrior. Unless you are a very advanced driver and go to the track often there really is not much sense in modifying the suspension on this car...

im having more rattles in my 08 cr (13K miles) hardtop then i did in my 00 softop (65K).

anyone else? i got a rattle in the right hardtop latch and the left rear lock lever.

one more thing, GF noticed that the passenger seat in the CR does NOT recline as much as in the AP1 and even the driver seat in my CR reclines more then the passenger seat.

i'm gonna check out patinums' CR tomorrow at the autocross but if you guys can have a look at your seats and report back, i would really appreciate it before i take in to the dealer.

2008 ABP CR # 133 here, purchased in late June with 124 miles on the clock. Kind of ironic that my first post on this forum in Nov. 2000 was seeking advice on a used S2K that the dealer wanted $37,500 for, and I've purchased the best developed version of the car almost nine years later for about $9K less, out the door!

My dealer, Jeff Wyler Colerain, had my blue CR and a black one on the lot for over a year, and then sold both on the same Saturday.

At any rate, the CR is my DD at present, and it certainly makes the drive to and from work exciting. I let my 2004 RX-8 go for the CR, and while the RX-8 was a great handling car (I added Mazdaspeed suspension a couple years ago), the S2000 CR is just on another level.

As for the seat, I've been meaning to ask you other 2nd S2k owners. I have a theory that our seats are flipped...ie jdm. The reason I say this is that the lever to move the seat back is toward the center of the car whereas on my AP1 I could have sworn it was toward the "outside" of the car. Also, there is a seat pocket behind the drivers seat whereas on my AP1 it was on the passenger seat.
