After looking a little more, there are quite a few things that are black on the CR that aren't on my past S2000s. The tube that is normally "brass" colored from the valve cover to the intake is black on my CR.

was looking through my owners manual and realize what looks to be a japanese "registration" tag?Anyone have this?

That would be the Japan MOT (Ministry of Transportation) F/E export sheets for the frame and the engine. Probably should not have been left in your car, but not a big deal. I'm sure they have record of your car shipping out.

one of the reasons I want to get non stagger wheels and tires aren't exactly cheap for our cars
I would think that much bite at the front would cause a major tendancy to oversteer unless you took other steps that would essentially counter that extra grip at the front, kind of making it pointless. Am I missing something?

Even the spark plug cover bolts are black. I believe non-CR bolts are silver, but correct me if I'm wrong.
