Has anyone driven the stock CR tires in cold (like 10degree) weather?

How bad are they? Are they "you're gonna die" bad or just "take it real easy" bad?

I know it's a bad idea to go pick up the car tonight, just trying to figure out how bad of an idea.
In snow they are COMPLETELY worthless. You might not even be able to get up enough momentum to do very much damage.

In temps below 45 degrees, they are merely dangerous. If you drive on them in the cold, as if you were driving all-seasons on light snow, you'll be OK.

EDIT: after reading what I wrote, I realized I did not emphasize NEARLY enough how BAD these tires are on snow. They WILL GET YOU KILLED and I don't care how good you think you are or how short a distance you are driving in the snow. Just don't do it...

i drove 600 miles, 240 of which were in a snow/ice storm on the stock bridgestones. NOT something i would like to repeat though. i aired them down to 20 psi front and back, and that barely made a difference.

The RE070s? The RE050s were bad, but not nearly as bad as the 070s.

And you are telling everyone this to look studly or to "prove" it can be done? Either way, if it was the RE070s, you are either a lucky fool or Aryton Senna reborn.

Yeah I'm not planning on touching snow with them, just the cold.

I have the breakdown for the rest of the MY08 S2000's, but I'll post that later in a new thread. FYI there were a total of 2591 valid MY08 VIN's.
I have #277 built Sep. 2007.

the re070 when cold like to "thump" for a little. well, at least in my car they did. don't freak out if you hear/feel any vibration.

Yeah... That's just flat spotting from being parked on a hard, flat surface. Concrete for example. All tires do this, some are much worse than others. Cold definately makes them hold onto that new shape longer, of course it also takes longer for them to flat spot in the first place. Warm weather is the opposite. The tires take on the flat spot more quickly, but also give it up quickly when run a couple miles.

These flat spots never completely go away, but close enough for your butt dyno not to feel it. Eventually, you get these micro flat spots evenly distributed all over the tire... not that you can feel them...
