-Official- S2000 vs Some other car thread
So it's come for me to finally sell my car, I normally change my mind many times before I make up my mind and when it came to sell my car (currently have a 2007 Honda Civic Si 4 door), I wanted something with RWD and def fun. I've looked at a good 15-20 different cars before narrowing it down. (At 1 point wanted awd, but for what I do, I don't really need it). The space for either car doesn't matter for me, I have a spare car I use when I need more space (1999 Mbenz E320).
I have yet to drive a FRS as dealerships sell em like hotcakes. Ive driven a couple S2k's and mainly looking for 2008 in anything but Red or Yellow.
I mainly want to stay with Honda, but if I can't find the S that I want, i'd ultimately buy a FRS.
Any thoughts, answers, words of wisdom will be appreciated

First time with rwd? Get the FRS. The S2000 is not kind to those inexperienced with rwd, and the traction control in the FRS will help you greatly, even if 08 S2000s have stability control
I love the FRS and wanted one for my wife but she did not like the seats or the fact the back seats were useless. I also wanted another S2000 sine I sold my 2002 a year and a half ago….We ended up buying a 2000 S2000 with stupid low miles.
We had a 2010 Miata we sold to buy the S, the Miata was a great car but it is no S2000 nor is it as good as the FRS. The only Miata we have had (we have had a few) worth owning for performance driving and fun was a 1990 with the little 1.6L 5speed along with a 4.30 LSD final drive. This car was a street legal go cart!! It had great pep and you could leave the grocery store sideway even with the trunk full lol.
Both the S2000, and FRS are great driving cars and both are rock solid dependable. With the FRS you get a brand new car for around $28K with the S2000 you get a 4 year old used low mile 08 for around $23K
If you want the S2000 buy a 2005 or 06 AP2 with 50k miles or less for $15 to $18K. Buying a little older S2000 would make a little more economical sense IMO if your going to compare new FRS or used S2000.
If you can get the opportunity, I would also drive a AP1 2000 to 2003 S2000s The first gen S2000s are a real drivers car! They are a great 2nd car for the weekend and can be had from $12 to $16K with under 50K miles.
Good luck
