Default Owners of MYo4

A friend bought a MY 04 S which is silver. It's not nearby for me to look at, but he told me this morning that the black around his windshield is not tape. Do they use paint now or is he nuts? Please post if you know for a fact. Thanks.

it's tape. open the doors, and follow the black tape trail down. you can actually try to peel it off if you're really interested

nearly did it myself... but an old thread around here did mention that sometimes the paintwork is not perfect under the tape and you may need to use rubbing compound to smooth it out. and once you get the tape off, you can't really put it back on (unless a professional car shop does it?).

Unless he bought a used one and the previous owner decided to remove the tape and paint over the area...then it is TAPE. You'll only find 2 areas towards the top arc that overlap. I haven't removed mine, I heard it can be a PITA but maybe they tried to remove it, had a hard time, and decided it wasn't tape?

Thanks for the replies. It was a brand new car. He's never tried to remove it, just probably didn't look hard enough.
