As I presented my experience long time ago ( the post does not exist anymore) try the following:

Practice lowering the windows down and THEN lower the top. I have never change my regulator. I have never had a problem with this in the past YEAR. When I tested this by allowing the top to lower the windows, problem came back.

My logic: This method of auto-down has been used for many years by Honda. Why all of a sudden a problem. Because the only thing different in this car is the auto function of the top. The problem does not initiate in the window circuitry. It must have to do with an actuator in the top circuitry that communicates with the window. The window regulator uses a weird way of activating the auto down. The top throws the sensitivity of the window auto down off. When used regularly, the window regulator is always out of wack!!!

Try this. Be patient and give yourself a week. You have tried everything else...

This problem also occured in the Accord Type R my '00 had this problem. But my dealers knew how to fix it as soon as it happened.

It is definitely not just an s2k prob.

Why does Honda replace the regulators as a fix? It's actually quite simple.

Basically what the window regulators have is like a little circuit breaker inside. If something causes the mechanism to draw too much current during the "auto" roll, it will trigger, disabling the feature.

Now anything from regulator failure to a dirty window causing too much friction as the window travels could cause the circuit to trigger. The procedure detailed will reset the auto feature, but the bigger issue is that your dealer can never be sure what caused the circuit to trigger in the first place. To avoid disgruntled consumers complaining that the service visit didn't solve their problem it just makes more sense to go ahead and replace the regulator in case something was wrong rather than just reset the mechanism and have the customer potentially return from a few hours to a few months later with the same complaint.

FWIW, that's why many of you have the auto feature stop working again; it's like resetting a circuit breaker - the circuit will work fine until whatever caused the overload causes the circuit breaker to pop; to fix the problem once and for all you must repair the overload that causes the circuit breaker to pop. In this case whatever is causing the regulator's auto "breaker" to trigger is still present. Whether it's a dirty window or a bad regulator, if the problem repeatedly returns it's not going to go away until the root cause is resolved...

The fix that you do yourself doesn't seem to work. It works for a new times, then returns again.

My car goes in Wed. for the new regulator.

The auto down from the top works differently then the auto down from the switch for the window. I followed the reset procedure; the window would go down automatically when using the window switch but still wouldn't with the top.

I would contact the dealer you bought it from and see what they say. Honda knows it's a problem and the part has been updated at least twice. They cannot deny responsibility on this. They should do it on a goodwill basis. If the dealer is uncooperative, contact Honda directly. Try the dealer and your salesmen and sales manager first though.

I tried it and it worked, but as soon as I started the car up again this morning, the problem was back.

Does anyone know of a way to make this for consistently?
