Are you talking about for Ka band? If thats the range for K band that thing sucks! A V1 will pick up K band for over 2 miles straight line. The weaker radar units you are refering to are Ka band. Very short distance to pick these up, but they also need you to be very close to get a good read. If you get a Ka hit, you had better be slowing down fast.

I have to put my 2 cents in, I own a bright green Civic hatchback (cops love it), and I have saved so much money with my V1, I thought it was alot of money to spend but i look back and its cheap, (compared ot insurance and ticket costs) I am always speeding, 85+ most of the time (tough cause its a weak car), so i have tested what the V1 is capable of and I CANNOT drive without it, even if i get a rental I bring the V1. May sound like I'm full of **** but kcopp can back my story. Its the best on the market.
