This might turn out to be one of the more successful "design by commitee" projects. It's nice when a plan falls together.

I think my wife has her eye on one of those cool Richard Paul short shifters for a "surprise" Xmas present for me. The Roof-Rail Mount might have to wait to become a President's day present.

Amen! If it weren't for all of the good suggestions made, this might have headed off on a totally different (and wrong) direction.

Rick, what's an approximate targeted cost for us? 100, 200, 400, 800, ...?

Hard to know, because it depends totally on mold costs and production materials and methods. I won't know that until we can get the protoype to a manufacturer. But I can tell you that my goal is to keep the price under $200 and a lot less if possible. The cost of the Garmin units is high enough.

...and now that you've lost interest in Vintage because of the political censorship, you can devote yourself 24/7, plus some, to this. Great news! As much as I like my leather visors, I like this better, I've decided. Can't wait. HPH

I've been traveling endless the past few weeks -- NYC, Austin, Omaha, Durham, on and on -- so not much work has been done. But with the holidays approaching and the travel winding down, I'm hoping to get the protoype finished. All I have right now is a foam mold, which is not much to look at.
