S2000 Killer?!
People who work at Mazda have been leaking info to the rotary community about a rotary miata. And, contrary to what another poster said, a rotary miata would not violate the "back to basics" nature of the miata, as the renesis engine weighs 200lbs, weight being the argument against a V6. Also, the president of Mazda has said he thought there was room in the U.S. Market for a 4th gen RX-7.
The question we're all trying to answer is this: Can Mazda make a turbo Renesis pass LEV? And if so, the Renesis engine is putting out 250hp at 9000rpms, and 280 at 10,000rpms. What would a turbo Renesis put out? My guess is at least 350hp.

I heard there was to be a Mazda prototype MX-5 (Miata) Turbo in the 2001 Targa Tasmania. There are plenty of MX-5 turbos around but this was Mazda engineered car that I believe was a test vehicle. Maybe that's the way it will go.
