I think this is getting close to a finished product, BTW....
It's time to buddy up to a vendor...

, but that's kind of the point of all this.
I may try to sell through a vendor later on, but i don't want someone else to be accountable for orders until i have production etc. running smoothly. If i can sell a few locally, then i'll get the $ together as soon as possible. I will not be quoting prices, selling any, or taking any orders through S2ki until i have become a sponsor.

I could have plain vinyl liners available very soon if anyone is interested in this.
These things would make great Christmas gifts!

Your idea is novel but frankly it's not going to sell that well if you ask for my opinion.
It's too hard to mass produce in a quality version for people to self install - this is one of those mods that would be great if the customer is local to you and you can do the install but otherwise to make it DIY and be eye-pleasing would be kinda hard IMO.
Is this just cosmetic?
Or will it REALLY reduce wind noise such as on the Audi/BMW tops?
My sugestion is to just design an inner fleece for the hardtops instead since that would be a good market

Your average S owner is a lot smarter than your average person.
I'm sure they can figure it out.I'll be lining a few with 1" quilt batting and felt today. I report back about how it does with the wind noise.
I could attempt a HT liner, but i've never actually seen the inside of a HT.

Props for doing something different for the s2ki community, if the final product looks/performs well I may pick one up too

I have been riding around with the larger liner installed for 2 weeks now. It really adds something to the cabin. It rounds out the interior nicely. Everyone i have in the car thinks it is OEM.
I lined the portion above your head and beside/behind it with 1" quilt batting (the while "fluff" inside blankets) and a sheet of felt on top of that. The felt tucks into the folds on the back of the liner, and it's glued into place to fully contain the quilt batting. I think it cuts down on the wind noise well, but i want more objective opinions. I can't tell if it provides insulation- the small interior heats up so fast as it is.
The beautiful weather we have had here lately gave me a chance drive top-down. I discovered that THE TOP WILL INDEED DROP WITH THE LINER IN.
I have dropped it almost 30 times w/o a problem! When i raised it again, nothing had to be readjusted. It was wrinkled on the sides but soon flattened out. However, i imagine that the velcro/elastic will wear out somewhat quicker if you drop the top with the liner in A LOT. The velcro/elastic may need to be replaced every once and awhile. Also, you will probably have to press the velcro down sometimes to make sure the movement of the top doesn't affect the positioning of the liner. I have had the small liner installed much, so i can't speak to it's functionality. I am giving one of them away this week, so hopefully i will have a review soon.
