S2000 search is fruitless
"In Edmunds performance testing, a manual-equipped BRZ went from zero to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds. This is a bit slow compared to most other small, sporty cars."
Waste of money. I can't believe people are actually buying into the 'hype'. Because its RWD?
Get a WRX if you want a Subaru over the S.

I am on the same boat looking for an S2000. I miss my S2000 (sold it last year) - was an 05 Silverstone. So far one of the best machines I have ever driven: minimal maintenance cost, great gas mileage and a blast to drive. Have been looking at so many others, but keep getting back to the S2000.
BTW - I have been looking since October of 2011!
All the ones I am interested in are out-of-state and never purchased a car out-of-state, so been trying to figure out how to go about doing that since I need to test drive it and wanted it to be checked out by my honda mechanic who knew my previous S2000 in and out.
I don't even mind paying a little extra for a low-mileage one, since I know (this time) I am going to keep it forever and have my stamp on it! I've been thinking of getting something a little different in color maybe even 2-tone (I really like the white + red interior combo). One thing I never had in my previous car are the OEM front-lip and trunk spoilers and I think it completes the car some how, they are very simple and just brings the car further down (more aggressive) and extenuates all the lines end-to-end.
Been debating whether to find one with the lips already installed or just order one myself and get it installed -- how hard is it to get them installed?!
Here is a 2008 in NY (I live in MA) with the color-combo I like, but without the kit and the front-bumper is not drilled: (6K miles for $29K)

Here is another 2008 one in NC with both the front-limp, side and trunk-spoiler: (24K miles for $29K)

I think these particular ones are priced pretty high, probably can get them further down in price. But I have also noticed the S2000 prices are starting to go up a little.
Overall, it has been a pain finding ones that are in good shape, low miles and reasonable price anywhere close to were I live!
I have seen looked at so many cars: 370z, BMW Z4, Porsche Boxsters, Genesis Coupe, scheduled a test drive for the new BRZ, ... I left all of them with the feeling that something was missing!
The simplicity of the S2000 is what keeps winning for me: its purpose, its timeless design, its emotions, one-ness, etc..
<sigh> We'll find the right one soon...

I've been thinking of selling my S for some time, but just haven't pulled the trigger. I am curious what people would be willing to pay for a 2005 Suzuka with 43,000 miles, hard top, and hard top winch, totally stock car with no dents. I've never sold a car private party, either. So whats the best way to sell it privately?

Backyard queens are awesome finds... Just be patient, you'll find the one when you least expect it. I wasn't even intending to buy when I found mine. lol

I just bought an 05 sebring silver, red & black interior, for $16300. 42k miles. Very well maintained and in great condition outside of a few rock chips.
Your hard top adds a good deal of value I would say (about 1k). Worst case, sell the hard top separately on craigslist or something.
