S2000 search is fruitless

I've been thinking of selling my S for some time, but just haven't pulled the trigger. I am curious what people would be willing to pay for a 2005 Suzuka with 43,000 miles, hard top, and hard top winch, totally stock car with no dents. I've never sold a car private party, either. So whats the best way to sell it privately?
I just bought an 05 sebring silver, red & black interior, for $16300. 42k miles. Very well maintained and in great condition outside of a few rock chips.
Your hard top adds a good deal of value I would say (about 1k). Worst case, sell the hard top separately on craigslist or something.
I see a lot of people get hung up on color. Granted thats just about the only option you have a say in besides the year/chassis, but if you really just want the driving experience, dont worry about the color. I wanted to get back in one pretty quick, so I picked up the first low mileage one that I could find in good condition.
Turned out to be suzuka blue, my least desired color when I was looking. Turns out I have taken a liking to it, but I wouldn't let color combo hold you back from a good price.
I forget where I found it, but someone has a breakdown of the color/interior combos that existed by year, and some of the combo's people are looking for a pretty hard to find. One guy locally really wanted a GPW/tan, but they only made like 1900 of them total, something like that. let me find the sheet so prospective buyers focused on color can have some perspective as to why they are having a hard time finding a specific color.
edit: found it: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/729...-of-us-s2000s/
Granted there is nothing wrong with waiting for the perfect color, just means you will probably have to look longer. Also, I agree, the quality of used s2000's is quickly diminishing.

Backyard queens are awesome finds... Just be patient, you'll find the one when you least expect it. I wasn't even intending to buy when I found mine. lol

Dude! He really robbed himself didn't he!
Couldn't have asked for more, it was the best price for the cleanest s2k.
You should see what's in the cabinets... there's even more. lol He inspired me into becoming a detail nut, already spent 2k on supplies.

How is 18k close to the price of a brz that is going to be 32k?
As has been said, the BRZ is going to go for about 27k OTD in the beginning, it will be lower after that, but not by much. It's a really good value for someone wanting a fun 2 door car, but to be honest, I am done with 2 doors. If I want a sports car, give me a real one like an S2000, just 2 seats, a drop top, and a revvy engine, that's it. I keep looking at miatas, but that would be more like a toy car for me, since I only like the NA ones, and those are older than my Prelude.
I was actually looking into getting an FR-S or BRZ, but that was when the price was closer to 21k, now that it's so close to WRX prices, I don't see a point to getting one because the WRX offers so much more for the money.
I was waiting for a Sebring silver with full red interior. Got lucky in Dec and found one about 500 miles away. Flew done and drive it home. 70k miles, decent shape all for $11,600 which included dealer fees. So far it's been more fun than 2002 996 targa I sold in November.
The S2000 is the Most fun for the money. A Porsche flat six makes noises no inline four could ever do. that's the only downside to the S motor - lack of quality exhaust sound like a flat 6 or V8. But I knew that going into it and love the S. no regrets.

A pre-2005 Boxster is a downgrade from an S2000. Maybe a Boxster S wouldn't be, but a regular one definitely is.
Defintely expand the search and stick it out. Took me 6 months to find mine and I was searching nationwide. (Being able to fly for free has it's benefits). But even if you're buying a plane ticket, a $300 plane ticket is nothing when you're saving $3k on the car. Be persistent! (I lived in Dallas at the time and found my S in NJ).
