03' Oem top bar covered just like the first example. I do have a very small amount of wear only on the inside.

I put some gorilla tape on the inside to see if that may postpone the inevitable.

Joe, that flap is velcro'd as you know. I've seen installers put the crossbar inside the velcro flap and outside as it was originally installed. Unless you have another top to compare it too it can be a little

For the 1st time installer.

I voted "exposed". I have a 2003 with the original top. The car has about 27k miles and I have wear in the spot where the hinge rubs. Also wear in a spot sort of above the door where the little nub thing hits. Is one of those the "tear along the corner"? I hope there's not more wear I haven't noticed yet.
