S2000 tows like a champ!
Some people will do things to/with their car just so they can have bragging rights for be the only idiot on the block doing it. They probably also rub their crotch while watching their "Jackass" DVD. Light tow loads probably aren't a problem, but heavy loads (aka 3k boat) will result in higher than design pressures on the gear tooth faces and bearings/bushings that may eventually lead to premature failure. Pulling heavy loads for many miles may result in transmission and rearend overheating. Been there/done that towing a boat with another make of small car.
its only 1 mile and he is going slow. that boat does wiegh more than 3000 btw. but if its all good then it is all good. I wouldn't do it with my s2000, but thats cause its mine, you can do what you want with yours. He also has gears so the load isn't as high on the car as you think it is...
Hehehe ... I love this thread. I probably say the same thing every time it's revived, but don't ever take the time to make sure.
FWIW, I never had any problems towing either of my boats with my S2000. I did it probably 20 times.

The fastest I have gone with it is about 30 MPH, since the road from my storage unit to the ramp is a 1 mile long 2 lane farm and market road.
Towing is what I do with my Titan taking the S2000 to the track.

That IS NOT towing... That is merly a short move from land to water.
