The S2000 Would Be Perfect If...

Bose is crap, although it is better than the big pile of crap audio in the S--for those of you that think Bose is a high fidelity brand, go out and do some research on your audio equipment. If you want high fidelity, check out the Mark Levinson systems that lexus is putting into their cars.
DVD-Audio would be cool to have, Retractable hardtop would be a plus, <unquote>

DVD-A would be neat as that is coming to the market pretty fast. I have a decent collection of DVD-A and SACD (and sh!tty MP3s) but I can't play any of those in the S due to incompatibility. I have about 50 duplicate discs due to this. A universal player like the new home Denons would be neat. It plays EVERY format.

bose stereo system........
Yeah, I know, it's supposed to be a "pure" sports car. But how about some freakin homelink buttons?!? I have my garage door opener in the door pocket to keep it out of the way. Instead of XM, I wish Honda would have added some homelink to the visors instead.
Homelink = inexpensive, light and no more garage door opener rattling around in the door!
Everything else I love or can live with as-is with the thoughts of keeping the car moderately priced and lightweight.

Rip Van cthree, you've been sleeping under the tree for too long: MR2 Spyder 6 Speed Sequential Manual Transmission
And this on a car with very similar production numbers as the S too.

sequential manual transmissions are for weaklings

Michael Schumacher drives with paddles. He has 7% body fat ,resting heart rate 39 beats per minute, he and others in F1 are subjected to G forces in excess of -7 on braking /4 G's in some corners.
NASCRAP drivers use a traditional gearboxes and NASCRAP drivers have double chins and beer guts.
Who is more of a stud ?
All i know is that there are two very different transmitions that are being discused here. Now i do not claim to know what cars come factory with these different trannys but i will try and make good examples.
There are automatic transmissions and manual transmitions and both have a couple of variants.
There is the traditonal park reverse drive automatic, where you put the shifter in drive and go. Then there are manumatic, or tiptronic transmitions. These are automatics that either have the ability to bump the shifter up or down to select gears. So of these use buttons or even paddles on the stering wheel to change gears, but these are still automatics without a clutch. And bottom line the car is changing gears.
Then there are traditional manuals with three pedals on the floor. Clutch in, new gear, clutch out, gas in. Then there are smg gearboxes. I know ferrari uses these and i believe that bmw does as well. These are manual trannys, but when you flick the paddle the same process happens Clutch in, new gear, clutch out, gas in, except the computer does it for you. There i am done with my ranting and i apologise if you just read this and are now saying i knew that, but aparently some people needed that explained to them. I also may have made many errors im just telling you what i think i know. hope this helps

It seems weird that all you sports car guys are fussing over stereos. The stereo is fine in this car. If you're so concerned about sound in a sports car, maybe a sports car isn't the right vechicle for you. By the time the stereo overpowers the sound of the car, you're half deaf already.

I like one member's comments about auto unlock on the passenger door, that is needed for sure.
