I don't do it on purpose, but I've found more spelling and grammar mistakes in this thread than I am comfortable with.

They didn't (deploy) because it was a r/e accident. The front bumper has to be hit for them to be useful. Having them go off in useless scenarios would just increase secondary injuries caused by the airbags.

In any event, I'm glad everyone will be okay. I've been in one bad rain accident, which was caused by something entirely out of my control. It's a horrible feeling...

Are you planning to purchase another S or a "safer" car?

People have to learn to drive to the conditions of the road. There are people driving on snow/ice, with snow tires, and not having accidents because they "take it easy". Why don't people do the same in the rain?

Just put it into Civic mode and you will be ok. I think every one that owns an S should go to an empty parking lot with out light poles everywhere and learn how to drive this thing in the rain. I did this after I spun my car the first time. Now when it rains I feel much more comfortable. The car is very predictable. Take a turn with too much gas and it going to break free. And what ever you do don

I think the biggest problem with the s2000 in the rain is that the buyers of the S2k have always driven front wheel drive cars. Thus they would never had any problems driving in the rain any different than the dry. As for me I have never had a FWD car and have never had the slightest problem in the rain with the S2k.

BTW, glad you are ok, that car looks pretty bad now.
