On snowy days do you know how many times I've seen RWD BMW not being able to go up the hill while I had no problems with my little Accord base model DX? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen that.
I never tried with my S2k to drive on the snow, but I have big reservations that the S2k can handle as well as the SI on a snow day
I've seen it with my own eyes plenty of times RWD cars stuck on the snow to know the S2k isn't good at all on heavy snow. That's why on snow days, my s2k stays in the garage
There are too many factors in this question. Are you married? Does your wife have a car? If you're married and your wife has 4 seats, S2k all day.
If I lived somewhere with more snow, I would likely sell my s2k. In seattle, it rarely snows and when it does, I can bus it. If it snows bad enough that the buses don't run, nobody expects you to be anywhere anyway.

If the SI is just a **Civic** with upgrades, then the RSX is also no big deal, since the SI has the exact same engine.........

I agree, the RSX is no longer a big deal. Actually the Si and the RSX's have similar engines, K20, but not the same. The current Si (K20z3) and the 02-04 RSX-S's (K20a2) have the most similar specs. The 05-06 RSX-S has the K20z1 which makes 13hp more and has a little more torque. Needless to say, I've owned a Civic Si, and it was a great car, but it's no S2000. It's extremely practical and a great choice if you could only have one car. I would have to use this phrase to sum it up, "Close, but no cigar."

I live in the Toronto area.
Last time we had a big snow here I had to put chains on my wife's civic a few times just to get in and out of the neighborhood. And I always have to go the same direction on my street because I can go down the hill, but I can't get back up it.
They only plow the main roads and they do a crappy job of that. So you end up with extra snow at the end of the side streets and that's where I kept getting stuck. The first few times I just gunned it and shot through, but once it thaws and re-freezes it gets pretty sketchy.

The SI can go as high as 130mph
It can do 0-60 in less than 7 secs (the best I've seen is 6.5 secs). That means on green lights I can beat 90% of cars on the road
When I drive it normal on regular traffic I can pull easy 30 mpg
I paid $20k for my 2010 SI brand new.
How is it overpriced? Can you find me a better car than the SI that performs just as good, gets that kind of MPG for $20k?
Oh, did I mention the SI is bullet proof reliable......
But I respect your opinion. To each his own. I got what I consider the best out there today for price/fun driving it, reliability, performance, MPG

The SI has been perceived wrongly in my opinion. It is perceived as just a **Civic**
Everyone always praises the Integra Type - R. But is the Integra Type - R really that much better than a 2010 SI? I don't think so.....
And everyone forgets that the SI has the same exact engine than the RSX Type - S
So the SI is NOT just a **Civic**
PS. I don't track the SI. Why should I when I have the S2k

2nd, the Si's K20Z3 engine is NOT the same as the RSX-S' K20A2/K20Z1. The K20Z1 is superior to the Z3, has better internal parts such as the Type R cams etc.
If it were me, I'd skip an Si and get an RSX Type S or a Mazdaspeed 3. Both would be cheaper and superior to the Si, and be perfect compliments to the S2000.
The Si is a Honda is a true Honda product. Not in terms of power enhancement, but in terms of handling.
The suspension is very good. It comes equipped with a LSD which improves traction and the handling is oh! so neutral. A thicker rear sway bar will help the rear end swing out when pushing hard in a corner.

I wasnt trying to offend you if that's the way i came off. I had a 1999 5 gen prelude SH. And it was just as fast as the SI is but was developed 11 years ago. I just wish Honda had stepped up a little bit with the SI considering how high the standards have become lately. I think if i was in the market for a 4-5 seating car i would pay the extra 2K and get a SPEED3 for sure.
I believe the Speed 3 cost more than an extra $2k compared to the SI.
I could be wrong, but I doublt you could get the Speed 3 Turbo for $22k
