S2k or SI?
I think you guys are overlooking the best solution: Keep the S2000 andbuy a cheap but reliable beater (Corolla or Civic or Accord).
I don't know how people own ONLY an S2000, especially in places that get ice and snow in the winter.

If it were me, I'd skip an Si and get an RSX Type S or a Mazdaspeed 3.

If you can get the Speed 3 Turbo for less than $20k I'll have a bridge to sell you == >> NEW!!!

Which is another point of mine: the Si's styling is so blah. It's just silly looking at times.
The 05-06 RSX-S looked so much sleeker and sexier than the Si, exterior AND interior. Not to mention it lacked the DBW non-sense.

My roommate was looking into a 2006 (or maybe it was 2007) Civic SI coupe and we both got to test drive it.
My overall impression was that I felt totally detached from the car itself. Shifting, turning, accelerating.. It reminded me of my 2001 civic sedan after 120k miles. Maybe i'm just spoiled with the S lol. Its not a bad car and it looks great, but the elongated dash area and the not so involved feeling would make me opt for another car.

Some of the new Mazda's look great, but I can't get over the smiley face on the front. Have you ever seen one of these with the front license plate. Looks like a smiley with buck teeth.

Also, the interior SPANKS the Si's interior imo. So sexy.

Maybe I missed something
Okay...
Fellas, I have owned a MazdaSpeed6 before the S2000. It's bigger than the MS3, and it has AWD, but the 2.3L DISI motor is identical.
Stay the **** away from the DISI. It is awful in terms of reliability, and the design is just plain stupid. People have blown up their STOCK motors from just taking a long trip. Apparently, according to some research by PT-Performance, the PCV lets oil through willy nilly into the intake at 3000rpms or so, causing massive detonation and eventually engine failure.
3000rpms is highway cruising at 70mph.
It's a POS motor. I got out of the whole DISI game for that reason. Don't jump in. Turbo is nice, but you're better off sticking to the Si.

I used to own a Mazda 626, not the same as todays Mazda's, but caused me enough grief to not consider Mazda's.
