S2ks are in trouble

And not all comparisons were strictly straight line... there are many posts in here about Auto-Xing and road courses.
I'm sure there's NSX references being made but that's what this thread reminds me of. Thing is a used NSX cost way more than any S2k. So if you want a fun car, with speed, FI is a good way to go on these cars and there's a few good off-the-shelf kits that seem DD-friendly.
Maybe you should change the title of the thread... S2Ks are in trouble? Really? How are they "in trouble"? They do what they do, and that's it. For some, it's fine, for others, it's not what they look for. That is not being "in trouble".
Mine is bone stock, and does everything I want from a car. I couldn't care less about what the guy besides me at the stoplight is driving. I'm having more fun in my car than in any other I've driven. That's all that matters. When it doesn't induce pure fun anymore, I'll buy something else. And that won't mean it's "in trouble".

ok. its right here:
you posted FIVE 1/4 mile times and trap speeds. those are done on straight tracks. that would be 'straight line.' i agree with nichigo.

To the OP: Sounds like you're trying to avoid admitting what you posted. If you're really not concerned about straight line power, then give us some other details like timing around the Virginia International Raceway or something else that is not directly related to straight line speed.
All I said was if you don't want to be misunderstood, then re-do your main post. Doesn't sound like it's that hard to do.

i think most people are missing the OP point. he understands like all of you that the s2k is not about power. and that is not the lure of the car for people. he is simply stating that from a business standpoint and from an economic standpoint this car is terribly outdated thus reflecting is poor sales and limited production. at the same token honda realizes this that's why they still make very few of them. i think it is not their intention to have this car be a factor in their business model. they just make it for the sake of trying to squeeze out a couple of bucks from a model that was designed to be a 2-3 year thing almost 10 years ago. i'm sure they never thought it would still be in production nearly 10 years after its birth.
that being said, i think the op is understanding of this, and is just trying to say that instead of letting it die out... with a few minor upgrades without having to change the chassis they could easily bring this car back to the same competitive status it was in when it first came out. i tend to a agree. while this is a modders car, if they were to give it just a bit more power and the option for a few upgraded luxury items like in the japanese models (navi, maybe better stock sound) i'm sure this car would do much much much well and again compete with bmws and porches as opposed to friggin chevys.
