The S2000 was never meant to be a drag car, it's not FI and it has a 4 cylinder engine...what do you expect? Look at what the CR runs in circuits and real road tracks.

All Honda needs to do to the CR is beef up the same motor and produce a 10-15 psi turbocharged motor good for about 310 hp/280 ft lbs for it and it would be pushing supercar performance.

You couldn't have proved my point any better... thanks.

Exactly for the response I was looking for.

If you're not happy w/ the S2000, dump it and buy something else, don't be a Honda fanboi. Loss of market share means a lot more to Honda than people bitching on the net.

So one has a quote in the sig.

Straight line is for fast cars. Turns are for fast drivers.

There is so much more to a car then 1/4 times.

You're right... and when you watch those GT motoring videos or whatever they are, the S2k keeps up perfect cause of the tight turns... but as soon as you get onto a back straight or a fairly long straight for the next turn, the poor little guy gets dogged.

See my previous post. FI is all the CR is lacking to put it back in the front of the pack.

edit: beat me to it.

It says that more and more S2000's are going out of warranty, and they're becoming cheap enough used for more modders to start messing w/ them.

^^ lol...they aren't.. but its still nice to have a little extra power

and considering some of the cars andre listed are thousands less..you would hope the S would be able to outrun some of them..especially since the S is defined as a sports car...whereas the others are 5 door hatchbacks and eco coupes...and dont get me wrong i think those others are great cars ..especially the speed3

still it is sad..but i still love my S over those other cars

also, i know our cars aren't meant for the drag strip...and you might consider that those other cars are..
.but those cars, especially the cobalt ss are great in the turns as well..

it might have been car and driver or some other magazine where the cobalt and speed 3 ran equally impressive times compared to the S on a nice road course ..and if im not wrong it might have been a CR

they called the SS one of the best handling cars period....they said to call it one of the best handling fwd drive cars is an understatement

truth is cars are just getting better...handling..power ..everything

Yup, the S2000 only does well when the course has very few top end straightaways.
