(That's what 2 years of use and minimal cleaning will do.)

Does anyone know if I can replace just the plastic panel, and how much it is?
I've been searching the forums and some online parts dealers and haven't found it.

Also, it seems like there's no way to retrofit the 2002 top to a 2000 model -- is that right?

The retrofit is possible, but not economical. Search the board for info on this.

Although Sime mentioned a cost of ~$800 to replace, I think that's a little high. I've gotten quotes for the plastic zip-out piece at $150-180... I can't see labor being ~$600 for the job, but I've never *paid* to have it replaced. Assuming you're in warranty, ask the dealer about it. My dealer replaced mine free of charge.

Check out the board sponsors for the parts (you'll need a Helm manual, or a dealer to do the work).

BTW - I've only ever used Plexus and could REALLY use a Muz Mat and some Meguiars!

Good luck!

- Chris

You can get the window replaced. It's nota zip out piece though. You actually need to replace more than just the window. The entire back piece actually is replaced. A dealer might be willing to do it under warranty as a one time good will gesture. Some people have been lucky enough to have this done.

May be better of trading the car for a '02 or finding a '02 in the recycle bin
