I definitely think the K20a/I/H/E/K-Pro swap into an S2000 would be drastically better than the F20. It'd give you F22 daily driveabilty, F20 engine performance, and maintain Honda reliability.

Hopefully you continue on with the idea...if you get stuck or need any kind of brainstorming, you may want to give the boys over at Hybrid-Racing a call. They are very knowledgable about K20 swaps (and rumored to have started on a K swap into an S2000....not sure what started means (if it's still just an idea, or if they've actually started fabrication).

As for the Ford 302 into an S2000 mentioned by Scot. The project has stalled. The motor was in and wired up, the rear was in, the trans was bolted (and not securely mounted, mind you). The fabricator has prioritized other work in his shop over this project (understandably), and the car owner has had a baby and cannot focus on multiple toy cars in the collection.

i am sorry but i have to disrepectfully disagree. I/RH/E/Kpro 05+ K20 only puts 210-215whp. that basically STOCK F22 #'s.

even though i think the idea of swapping a motor into a s2k is stupid, i would have to agree with the others that mentioned LS(GM) series of motors. nothing would be more scary then to pull up to a s2k thats a ground-pounder!

I used to be in the camp that "F20c > than all other Honda motors" for many years. Even when Shawn Church started offering his experienced opinions on the K20a2 vs the F20c, I still wasn't convinced.

It wasn't until I had my own K-swapped Integra (owned for over 2 yrs now) that I started thinking otherwise. I would definitely give up the F20c that's in my car for a K20a (ITR variant of the motor) in my S2000 (owned since March 2000). Where the pull is in the powerband on the K20a completely trumps the F20c for my city driving experiences. The peak numbers that everyone keeps quoting for both motors doesn't mean anything to me, sorry.

The only place I can think of the NA F20C where it gives me a better driving experience is on roads where the S2000 shines (at the Dragon, canyon runs, open track)....otherwise, for daily driving and aftermarket NA tuning, I think the K20 has the lock on Honda 4-banger motors.

Just my experienced opinion.
Thats my experienced opinion as well, an everyday driving, good light to light car would be the K20 S2000 without a doubt. The low and mid range torque #'s the k puts out , compared to the f20c, are proven to be better. Cut and dry.

So does the electrics match up between the motors? would you run it via stock ecu? or an AEM EMS?

Any chance of an LS1?

There's a lot of engine codes being thrown around...I just want to clarify to those who are not in the know, the Nissan engine code:

SR20DET is the silvia motor, the SR20DE would be a lowly Sentra motor LOL

Hello,

I applaud your ingenuity! I say, don't listen to the negative people here that say that it can not be done. Those people are probably the same people that would have bashed your 2jz project before seeing evidence, like you have provided.

However, I do find one of your statements that you have made to be a little , I don't know you at all but you seem to be quite an arrogant person. You keep saying "I have the fastest s2000 in the world" with out any proof. where is your evidence for that statement? Sure, you probably do have the fastest s2000 in the world! however, you probably have the most unstable one in the world too. You are too scared to drive the thing because it looses traction after 130 however, I and most of the s2000's here can do 140+ all day long with confidence.

Sorry, not to be a dick at all! just gets me a little when you cant even drive the thing like it should be driven.

I would love to see a SR20DET put into a S2000. You wouldn't even need many modifications to hit 400hp on an unbuilt motor. I know a lot of people who run there SR20's with a stock bottom end run 400hp daily. I mean stock I see people easily put down 230 to the wheels with the stock turbo. haha Zfever in Tampa Florida put SR20DET into a miata which was bad@SS! Thats just my opinion. Good luck on what you do!
