Stereo Help!!!!!!!!
Hi, I just purchased a 2003 Honda S2000 with 2k miles on it and am looking to update the stereo. The concern I have is with the instrument panel. I do not want to make the stereo buttons to left of the steering wheel obsolete. I found a guy who can rewire it to coincide with an aftermarket deck for $200 but I think I may just save the money and concentrate on some high quality speakers and a really good amp. I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions on what to get and what not to get. Also, if I go with some really good speakers and an amp will that give me good crisp sound or do I really need to buy an aftermarket deck. Thanks a lot for the recommendations and suggestions.

One thing you have to remember it that the S2000 has a strange connector to support the dash controls too. Lucid sells these too. I found out the hard way and bought what I could find, then I had to buy it again from Lucid.

The deck is fine no need to change it IMHO. It should be the same as MY02 just add some rears(alpine 5 1/4), there was talk about that factory sub-woofer due out at fall colors that's what my interest are focused on now.
I changed all the speakers, added a sub and amps, but kept the og headunit. The only problem with that is that you have very little control over the sound quality of your new speakers. I am finally changing my headunit to a Pioneer. I let you know the outcome when it's installed.
