My Yellow S2k seems to erase the inhibitions in people.
While I was waiting at a stoplight downtown tonight, a couple in their 40s walked up to the intersection and when her husband saw the Stook he flashed a very wide, tooth-filled smile and said out loud, "Now that's a beautiful car!" It was almost (almost) embarrassing as he took his hands out of his pockets, crouched low and kinda ran over to the side of the car dragging her with him. They ran over each other's questions, talking at the same time about "what kind of car is this?" "Is it fun?" "Do you like it?"
It's so hard to compress my answers into something concise, so I give the the 0-60 times, horsepower and top end numbers. When they ask how it drives, I usually say that it makes other cars on the highway feel like pylons. I get lots of smiles on that one.
Anyway, they gushed on until the light went green and I actually hated to drive away from them, they were having so much fun. I used to think that owning a Ferrari would be the perfect fun-mobile, but I don't think people would be so quick to converse with me if I was driving one. A Yellow S2000 has got to be the perfect conversation starter and bridge builder. It says FUN just by sitting there.
Lord, I love my car.
