Does anyone know what the Type V has that our cars don't have? Options available? If there are differences in equipment, are they available here? (U.S)

The V is actually VGS which stands for Variable Geared Steering or something. I'm not sure, but I think it changes the gearing of the steering the further you turn the wheel. This results in a 1.4 revs to full lock steering system.

Or maybe it's related to speed. Anyone know for sure.

Oh, and the steering wheel is flat at the bottom and funky looking.

Doesn't it also get the titanium trim on the instrument console?

More importantly, I'd like to know more technical specs on how the VGS system works. Can anyone help out here?

Seems like a really wild concept. Would definitely buy it if available in North America. Of course, as usual, the Japanese keep the best cars to themselves.

The Type V also gets a special midnight blue paint job in addition to the flat-bottom steering wheel, the VGS systems, titanium trim, etc. I think they also tweaked the suspension a little too.......but I could be wrong about that.

Rick once mentioned a GB from the original manufacturer.

Don't know where it went.
