maybe the previous owner was trying to hide the rattles with low tire pressure...lol.
Exactly what I was thinking? How old is this guy?

rattles can be fixed. My car had a few when I bought it, I've managed to eliminate pretty much all of them. Don't address rattles with tire pressures.

I run 35psi all the way around on my HZRIII's for a bit stiffer sidewall. Some members down here run even higher PSI. When I had a slow leak in an old tire, 2xPSI felt FLAT. Man, you haven't experienced your car yet!

took it out for a small spin today again ... as soon as you floor it in a straight line, it just wants to go sideways.
in a roundabout i put it sideways with really low throttle input (thus low speed) ... i love roundabouts btw.

now i'm wondering. is this car meant to be slow, but fun? because the way its handling now, i do not feel safe driving it fast. it just wants to oversteer.
its a lot of fun at slow speeds, but is this really the s2000's character?

i know you wont like this comment ... but i preferred it at 24 PSI!
but i will give it a couple of days, drive it carefully, try to understand it, then i will see what to do.

It's a RWD car...oversteer happens! Have you owned an RWD car before? How about one w/o traction control? This car has no problem at high speeds, but you do need to learn it.

Also treat it like an animal that can rip your face off....if you sneak up on it and scare it, it'll bite you....if you are very deliberate in your actions, it will respond accordingly. (use this analogy in your throttle and steering actions...if you stab the gas, it'll bite you....if you apply steady and surefooted, it will be more predictable).

The car was meant to be driven fast.
If you're flooring it with the wheel straight, and it wants to come around, something might be off. Pointing the car straight - it should go straight. Check your alignment maybe? It could be off from running such damaging tire pressure for so long.

i did do an alignment last saturday. yes on full throttle, especially when vtec comes in at 6k rpm, the back goes loose... but not always to the same side. depending on the road or the steering position.

another thing which maybe you are not considering: our roads are complete and utter rubbish. the tarmac is shiny and slippery, not grippy as it should be. so just MAYBE we need to compensate (a little ) with the pressures.
lol ... i will leave it with 32 / 34 for a week for sure, maybe i will get used to it.

the only other rwd car i own is an old (1981) mercedes W123 with a 2.0 petrol engine. on the original tires i used to have a lot of fun throwing it sideways around roundabouts. but with that car it was easy - full throttle and small corrections with the wheel. it was slow.
lets give it some time, maybe i'll "learn" the car ...
