vtec is just a sound for me nowadays, i think i've gotten too used to it.
i also figured that being in vtec is gas efficient (27 mpg over about 250 miles)
so... how often is often for vtec? i know if you use it "often" you gotta get valve adjustments in shorter intervals

You don't really feel VTEC engage; it's not a turbo.
What you will notice is throttle response after 6000RPM.
Take it to 8000RPM, take your foot off the gas until it reaches 6500RPMS and then mash the gas pedal. NOW you'll get pushed back in your seat like a turbo.

VTEC is more of a sound than anything for the most partWell, there is one occassion when you realize VTEC isn't only only a sound ... and that's in AutoX. Sometimes you really get caught in the 6K rpm range in 1st gear, and VTEEC engagement could throw you off especially with cold conditions ...
