I can't relate to the young man's specific problem, but why harrass him? Try and remember what your state of mind was at 16 before responding. I'm with pappy on this. My daughter got the 10 year old Si when she turned 16 and I believe she earned it. I could have bought her a new car but I think that's overkill.

Charly

I understand that at 16 yrs old a 35k car is a bit much, but who are we to decide if that is right or wrong. Just like you said, if I was 16, and my father offered a Honda S2000, I would go nuts!

Remember a true enthusiat enjoys the car because it is for him, not his friends, not for approval from others, and woudln't let detracters ruin the enthusiasm. Drive you S and have fun, that is why you got it right?

More replies!!! Just gonna comment on " my S2000 was the first!" Poor George (UGOTMADE) had me buy mine about a month after he got his.. we live about 15 miles apart if that too... and I had no Idea

Just so everyone will know I payed $5,000 of my car... saved up for two years for an S2000(I cleaned my dad's offices and helped my mom with riding lessons), I make straight A's in honors, and haven't ever been in too much trouble, not that this means I should have gotten an S2000 but it puts more meaning to it.

Insurance...

I pay $200 a month regardless to my parents for insurance... If I get a ticket, I pay the increase...

Pappy, we agree, but someone else made that comment you're referring to. Good to see another TB S fan out there, BTW. I've been off this board for half a year but I see some of the "judges" are still around to jump down people's throats.

oh dude, that's not cool.

i'm 17, and i'm also a junior in high school. no one in my school has an s2000, and i hope no one else gets one. i know that i can't do a lot to stop people from getting one, but i don't think i would mind enough to worry about it either. if they got the same exact color as me, i might be a little annoyed, so i guess i do understand where you're coming from. mine would be faster than his, 'cause i've got some mods too. i'd be really surprised, but i wouldn't do a lot about it. i say you just ignore him (if you say he's a "dick"), and the comments other people make about his car. that's just my opinion though. well, good luck.

i forgot to add that there are about 20 s2000s in my little suburb of houston. there are three of them in my small small neighborhood alone (we're ages 17, 21, and 28 and we mod our cars). it's pretty cool.

SAME HERE dude. Im a Jr and I just got a 02 blk/blk S2k. Im the only one in my school w/ one and the next best car is probably like a Z3 or a ws6 trans am. I still like my car over either of them though. Anyways, age doesnt matter at all; if u can get it, why not get it regardless of age right? To whine about age would be ridiculous. I also wouldnt mind having another S2k in the school; preferably a girl though

You can never be the best because there is always somebody who will have more and better. Picture yourself in his shoes, would you want people dogging your ass everyday? You'd want people to give you props and whatnot. Instead of feeling the way you do, you should just break the ice and start being friends with the guy. I think your school would give you both props if you two would cruise together and chill. Imagine two black S2k's rolling in the student parking lot, and parked side by side. When I was in high school, I had the baddest car at school also. I had an Accord dropped with rims. Back then, there were hardly any modified imports. But then some guy I knew bought a Supra, and I was like damn. But I was cool with the guy. Anyway, treat others how you would like to be treated. Sometimes you'll just have to swallow your pride before you do something that you might regret.
