Blk01S2k,

I know where your coming from. I was 17 when I first got my S2000. In all honestly, you shouldn't feel bad that someone else bought the same car as you. When I drove mine to school for the first time, EVERYBODY, and I mean EVERYBODY was in a state of shock. It was the new "talk" of the school. Well the time flew by and I graduated. Now I have friends that are trying to get used S2000's for themselves. At first I didn't like the idea that I wouldn't be the only one. Now, I'm actually helping them find one. I figured what the heck, if there gonna get one, then there gonna get one. The best thing to do would be to help them find a good one and tell them about common S2000 problems that they should look out for. You should go and talk to that kid and let him know that he shouldn't be afraid ( ). His parents are obvioulsy rich buying him the car and rims, you should give him advice on the "correct" way to differentiate his car. After all, he owns the car now, can't do anything about it. You wanna make sure that he doesn't make a bad representation for you and the rest of the owners. Damn I don't think I'm making any sense.

None of my friends have gotten S2000's yet. And till this day, I am the only person to have ever owned an S2000 at my high school. So . And believe me, I have my friends that still go there that keep me very informed. lol.

P.S.
Has the drama started at your school yet
about who would win in a race between you two?
I know at my school when someone would have the
same car as someone else, there would always be
drama about who would win a race.

Blk01S2k... as others have said, I can relate to your situation also. I got my s2000 a little over a year ago (Jan of 01) and I was 17 at the time, a senior in high school. To be honest, I wasn't too popular in school. I was first known as "Oh, its Dave's bro" (Dave is my older brother who was pretty popular back in high school, he is two years older than me). My bro even knew people at my age than I did, which I found very pathetic of me. Other than that, I found myself pretty much anti-social. Well anyways when I first got the S2000, I was damn well known as the "kid with an s2000" and mine was also black. I use to think I was very unique, but actually the car became my image, in which today still kind of applies. I actually liked it back then, being know as "the guy with an s2000" but time after time I got sick of it, because I wasn't known as someone else. I had compliments coming everywhere, and obviously those jealous said I was spoiled. I still get some compliments while in college though. I still scope on my old high school's parking lot, and I do see another black s2000 there. I kept my high school parking decal on my car to let people know I use to go to high school, but this guy also had it, so there were two exactly 01 blk/blk with high school parking decals in the city! Oh well, nothing I can do about it, but I jus wish he'd picked another color.

For the mean time, I say zaino your car. Besides black will look hella beautiful when super shiny. The guy with a blk s2k back in my old high school - his car is dirty, and I hope he keeps it that way LOL j/k.

Also, there's alotta high school senior/junior chicks (i'm only a year or two older, not bad, rite?? ) that seriously dig the s2000, and wish they can get one. Most of them may never get one, but hey... why not take em for a ride since that'll be rare?

Hey everyone. I appreciate the kind and not so kind responces. I guess it is obvious that I am being selfish but it was just a shock to me. and for anyone on this bored to say they wouldn't be shocked to see there exact car in their exact color in their exact parking spot after a year of owning wouldn't be suprised also. "V Dik Controller" yes my mom does pay for it.. so i should go ask her when i get a chance, thanks.. VTEC Racer i get bombarded with the oh he wants to race you and he says he can beat your rumors every day. i have learned to just accept the rumors and move on.. about every person i speak to says "you should race him and spank him".. i know i can.. after all i have had the car for a year and naturally have a better feel for the car. i just decided to become friends before i become enemies and hopefully when we do race it will be for fun and not a grudge match...i am seeing more and more s2000's on the road and i think we can all agree when we say we thought we bought the rarest thing since the McL F1... ..well i guess reality has struck me and there going to be popping up like crazy..pappy thanks for seeing things from another persons perspective... i just dont understand why a dad thats making 30k a year can justifiably buy there kid a civic and have an extremely tight budget.. but a dad making 100k a year can buy his child a more expensive car on his tight budget and it would be rediculous...everyone has budgets, some higher than others..... i am xtremely lucky and very greatful for everything i have been given and to be thought of as less than the average s2000 owner because im young is rediculous..for those that understand thanks and more comments are welcome....thanks..

p.s. ludedude, sorry for the misunderstanding..i live in Cathedral City (touches borders with palm springs)... i just have that on my profile to give people an easier understanding to the area i live in...

Not me! My high school car was a 16 year old Toyota Corolla. No one else had one of them!!

Dang, if someone else being as spoilt as you is your biggest problem then you truly do lead a charmed life. I'd love to spare some sympathy for you, but you are way down the line of the needy.

lol, once again.. age is brought up again.. lets remove my age and think.. 1 s2000 owner sees another of the same style in the same spot he parks and wants to share the experience... how is AGE a factor?!?

I didn't mention age! The car was 16 not me. I was 17 when I bought it for $450 I saved up from working in Grace Bros deli every Thursday night and Saturday. I counted myslef lucky. One of my best friends was slowly dying of cancer at the time. How's that for perspective.

The age thing actually works in your favour. Imagine how ridiculous it would be if you were 33 and mommy bought you an S and you were upset because someone else had one. What's sad at 16 is pathetic at 33.

About the "age" thing.. u guys say "16 with an s2k!!!" so what, s2k=$32,740.. how bout those bastards at school with a lexus or a benz or somethin!!! just cuz the s2k looks better =-P.. but newayz.. i see where ur comin from, i'm 18, when i was 16 i drove my dad's prelude once in a while, and i was always afraid to park it next to another 'lude.. scared it would get keyed or get my emblems jacked or somethin.. And u know wut i hate? ppl on the street who see u, when the have teh same car, and they start dogging u or somethin. BUt i dont let it bother me anymore.. when i see a lude, i nod at the driver or somethin the like.. the rest just depends on their response, if they nod back, i just go on with my life, if they gimme the finger, i DOWNSHIFT! RAH!.. =-P As for the guy driving the same car, who cares, tell him about s2ki.com, we can all get along. Now u wanna hear somethin that pisses ME off? All my friends sayin "why the hell does ur dad have an s2k, AND a prelude... he's so old, he shouldn't be driving a sports car".. now letsee, most my friends that say that are 18 or 19.. i wanna see them AFFORD to buy one.. my dad worked his ass off to get to where he is, and he finally wants the chance to have some fun in his life, so he buys a prelude, then an s2k =-X. nevermind i'm just babbling..
