we have all been here one time or another..
The fact is that you are just 16...If you were twice your age you would congradulate the guy on making a wise purchase and selecting an excellent color. It is our personalities as owners that add character to a car as well as modifications...so chill out a bit...enjoy your car and all other S2000's you see on the road.
Plan B: Buy a different car.
Plan C: Move to a different school.

Plan D: Do some community work with the poor, disabled, or terminally ill. Your problem will evaporate quicker than you can say "Daddy I want a Rolex"
This kid shows more maturity at the age of 16 than you my friend

In all seriousness, if you are asking "What should I do?" the answer is not "Get some serious bling blings and a fat exhaust" or "Get a NSX".
The answer is "Get over it". I don't mean that condescendingly. I mean seriously don't let these sorts of issues bother you. If you can master that you've got something way more valuable then an S2000 (or an NSX even). It's called self esteem and it'll carry you a long way in life.
How'm I doing on the maturity stakes Pappy?

That is the pleasure of being young Aus! You don't have to worry about what atrocities the world has to other. Petty things like this is what being young is all about.
ie: I saw that my little cousin (9 yrs old) started to cry and shout because he got his ice cream taken away from him. Is it my duty to explain to that child of the food shortages and starvation in South Africa and the rest of the world, so that he understands that crying about a simple piece of ice cream is absolutely wrong. Of course not, because he is a child!
This kid is a normal 16 yr old dealing with normal issues that a young lad would deal with. Just continue the conversation in a normal manner and be happy for the kid....

Oh please! First you're calling me immature now you're defending immaturity.
We gotta grow up some time. Yes, 9's too early. But I think about the same time we give out driver's licenses and high performance cars is about the same time we should start growing up.
How would you propose our friend deals with his dilema?

I think the reason age comes into play is because of the attitude and maturity of someone who is 16 driving a car such as this. I remember what I was like being 16 and I thought my Ford Escort was the sh*t. But had I had a car like the S2000 I probably would have killed myself.
We all know that the person we were and the maturity we had at 16 was much different than we are now. I admit it bothers me that a 16 year old would have this car, just as much as a lexus or some other $30+ sports car. There's also the inexperienced driver ideas as well.
Here in wisconsin, new laws were recently passed concerning kids and driver's licenses. From what I remember, a 16 year old cannot have more than one passenger of less than 21 years of age in the car at a time. All the way til they are 18. There is more to it, including some night restricitons as well I think, but it's because of the immaturity and inexperience younger drivers carry with them. That's why I shudder at the thought of a 16 year old having a car like this or LS1 camaro, etc.
As for not paying for the car... well I take pride in the fact that I have always paid for my own cars. But I guess it's not a big deal. His parents buying it for him is no different than winning the lottery and buying one. This doesn't make as big a difference to me.

Of course your being immature. Sorry if you went through a rough life or something, but this kid didn't do anything wrong. Have you gone to High school? Have you experienced what is like to be 16 yrs old? If so, then you wouldn't have said some of those ridiculous statements. I get pissed off at people who have some kind of vendetta against kids with blessed lives.
My god, you bicker like a 15 yr old!
