No, I didn't have a bad childhood/adolesence
Yes I went to high school
Yes I remember what it was like and I wouldn't swap youth for maturity if you threw in an S2000.

I don't have problem with his age, wealth ot toys. I mean, it's all perspective. There were guys my age at high school with Porsches and others who thought I was spoilt because I had a beaten up Toyota.

It's not your age or what you've got or are given that you should be judged by. It's your actions. Coming out looking for sympathy because you don't have the only S2000 at high school is pretty sad. As is asking why the guy is shy after this:

[QUOTE]lots of people gave the kid a hard time for buying the same car same color and parking next to me.. to be honest i did also
he takes detours and tries to avoid the insults...

Ah.. the generation gap widens yet again!

Joey, the advantage of maturity (age-wise) is that you remember being 16! You have no concept yet of how your thinking and values will probably change with time, abhorrent as you may well find the idea now. In fact possession of a car like the S2000 at 16 years of age is heavily loading the wheel of fate against you making it to a ripe old age. That's as if there aren't enough hazards on the way already.

You don't seem to take the car for granted which is great, but the fact remains that a car like the S2000 is not a suitable car for any new driver let alone a 16 year old. I seriously doubt the wisdom of your parents in getting it for you as a first car. Would I have grabbed at the chance at your age?.. of course! Would I be here today?... I have serious doubts.

Stuff what anyone else does, you own a great car. Enjoy it, but please do it safely!

We gotta grow up some time. Yes, 9's too early. But I think about the same time we give out driver's licenses and high performance cars is about the same time we should start growing up.

How would you propose our friend deals with his dilema?
I think Pappy called you immature for the sort of response you gave, Blk01S2k shared a problem HE is having at age 16. Judging by his posts he seems very mature for his age, you don't sound as mature. Pappy ilustrated it best with the 9 yr example.

I do agree with you that Blk01S2k will have to chill at some point. Unfortunately most 16 yr old kids in the world have worse problems, but that's not his fault.

AusS2000... you seem to think that I am emotionally distressed over the daily conversation i was trying to start? This isn't not a terrible factor added to my life. I am not saying daddy I want a rolex... This was my absolute dream car and because my father could give me something this great at such a young age i should be neglected from anyone 20 years of age or older? Cedric... my parents in no way lack wisdom.. i understand what your talking about but i guess thast when trust/maturity come into play. They expect em to drive responcibly and just cause I can get to 100 quick doesnt meant any less expensive car can't get to 100 at all. I understand where your coming from and I try to be as safe as possible... AusS2000, you seem to quote only certain parts of my posts and only the parts to aid your argument..You actually edited my post and when you used my words you left out completer sentences! such as: "To be honest, i did also..now im feeling bad..." However if you need to alter the truth to make yourself look better than thats fine.. just remember everyone else has actually read all the posts... NNY i will surely tell him about the site and maybe even get a little cruise day with him. As far as getting an NSX or anythign like that, it was a joke made out of sarcasm to get a laugh out of my buddies. This is not my worse problem.. I have more imporant problems like getting me B up in my advanced placement psychology class.. well pappy and all others seeing things from my perspective, once again.. and AUS, sorry you feel that way towards me.. your console cover was looking really nice too. (just kidding)

I goto school with Blk01S2k and when he said the s2000 is UGLY cause the rims, i posted the picture of the rims he has, if there not those, they resemble them. The company that makes the rim is called Kronix.....and here is a bigger picture of the rims the kid has on the s2000

Your opinion, as you DO have the right to one mine is that your original response was too broad. Unfurtunately I can only go by what you write not by what you mean.

Hey Joey,

Ignore any flak you are getting about being 16 and having your ride.

If your parents can do it for you and they are willing to thats great, IMO.

I'm 42 and have a 15 year old son, he won't be getting anything quite on the level of the S2000, but I will definitely hook him up when he's ready for it.

I completely understand your feelings in regard to another guy copping your ride.

In the late 90's I had done a bunch of things to my 95 Black / Black Maxima, (17" Chrome OZ's, Lowering Springs, Bra, Headlight Covers, 300W stereo, ).

It was a pretty popular car in my townhome developement, and I was very proud of it, (still am

Well, one summer day an acquaintance at the community pool which I hardly knew takes me aside and shows me HIS new Black / Black Maxima. Not too bad on the surface but then he proceeds to ask me where I bought my rims because he wants to get the same set!

I didn't want anyone copping my look either, about 6 years later I still don't think it's cool.

I lied and told him I didn't think OZ still made them and he ended up getting different rims in the end.

Fortunately, you will be done with high school before you know it, and you won't have to park next to the other S.

Which brings me to another question - whats your problem with chrome rims, Joey?

I have 18" Zenetti's on my triple black S2K and I get a LOT of compliments on them, I think they look great!

In fact, rims, IMO are the most important upgrade you can do.

They personalize your car, and sperate you from everyone else who has the same ride.

Just my 2 cents

Eddie

Umm, yeah! I'm aware that the whole post is there and that others can read it in full. I'm not that old an senile.

I was referring to certain parts of your post and it was those I quoted. Just like above. My point was that it's no surprise he is shy. The only points that are relevant to that are the things you say to him, the things others say to him, and the things you say to others that probably (infact definitely in the gossipy bitchy highschool world) get back to him. He doesn't have ESP. He doesn't know that you feel bad about being an ass, he just knows you've been as ass. So why would I quote it.

Look, I apologise if I've hurt yours or Pappys feelings. I was a bit rough with the Rolex comment. But if you can see through that for a second you may actually see that my response has some merit. That's all I'll say on it.

Oh, and about the Console Cover thing. I think your friend has already ordered on in chrome.
