Maybe its been removed? I hate it and will be taking it out soon. Just sounds like I'm riding the clutch at upper rpm.

The seats are slimmer but you sit much lower. I prefer being lower.
No CDV and lighter flywheel, feels a lot better and no slipping clutch on fast shifts
Super long gearing. Ap1 and Ap2 should really have the reverse transmissions
Very raw and unforgiving

08 CR
So so so, much faster and torque. Better gearing etc. so much faster
Also much more refined and quieter even with less sound deadening in the CR
VSA sucks, turn it off as soon as I get in the car.
Updated tach etc, its much brighter and ECU is much faster

I'm sure there is lots more but those are the major things off the top of my head.
I pretty much agree with this. I had an 02 Sebring and currently have an an 07 GPW. The 07 just feels better in every single regard.

This is multiple AP2's I've driven. 3 CRs, my own '05, against an early AP1. I never notice the CDV.

You'd notice if you had an AP1 and AP2. When I got my AP2 I thought the clutch was slipping.
I've driven both back to back, the clutch has always felt fine with the AP2.
If you shift at WOT as fast as you can shift an AP1 it will slip sometimes. AP2 has a much heavier flywheel so it just takes longer for the revs to go back down, which combined with the delay valve will make it slip.

It's just the flywheel - if you fast-shift under 7k you never notice any slip. The takeaway though is that if you slow your shifts a bit, you never will notice it.

The CDV is to regulate driveline shock, the heavy flywheel retains energy between shifts, so you don't need to shift as fast.

I understand what everyone is trying to explain, I just never notice any slip; this is with WOT shifts just before the rev limiter. I was doing it last night and this morning, no noticeable slip by feel or watching the tachometer.

I dunno about "so much faster". 0-60 and 1/4 mile are basically the same for AP1 and AP2. I usually change the gearing to 4.44 in my AP1s to fill in the bottom end, or you can use an AP2 transmission or secondary shaft/gear.

I've had 4 AP1s and 1 AP2 over the past 12 years. For me the AP1 is more fun as a sports car. AP2 is good if you rarely redline and/or commute in your S.

I had an AP2 trans and 4.44s on my first S. It does do a lot to make the AP1 feel a lot faster.

I was going to mention the professional reviews of the 2 versions and how the performance figures are almost identical... I find it funny that the writers have consistently mentioned how Honda tamed down S2000 because driver's who ran out of "talent" needed driver assists.... LOL
