What would you do?
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that, after reading this episode, the whole problem has been blown out of all proportion. Rylan: What's the big deal about putting miles on the car? I realize John has got the money, but it's not as though the item is going to wear out over the next few days. Obviously there's a responsibility for him to ship the item as soon as he was paid for it, but then, haven't we all experienced the same kind of problem with late delivery on an internet transaction or after buying something from a major retail store?
If this is such a bad deal, I suggest krazik-s2k politely asks VaporTrail for his money back, and leaves it at that. Neither guy gets hurt any more, and that should be the end of the story.
I just wish these guys would kiss and make up. In a couple of weeks when it's all blown over, they'll probably both feel guilty at the way they handled the situation, and will regret having made asses of themselves. (I hope so!)
You know what? IMO, if people spent a little more time explaining themselves in e-mails, instead of trying to convey a complete scenario in one sentence or less, then maybe the other party will understand and reply in kind. Lazily written e-mails, such as those written above, are most likely to lead to miscommunication and the kind of confrontation we're seeing here.
Hey VaporTrail, give krazik-s2k his money back (assuming he wants it!) and leave it at that. I just hope we've reached a point where we can lock this thread, so we can all get on with life.
Ooops!

Where you don't understand is this: the header installation took 1.5 hours with a lift. I'd double that without it. I don't have that amount of time to dedicate to it at the moment. I am, as they say, the magic key to my business. Having me tied up for 3 hours is about as good as me taking the day off.
Anyway, I digress. This is just going to continue to be mindless bickering between you and I, Rylan, so I bow out. We'll get nowhere this way - you don't understand my POV. And that, as they say, is that. Back to work...
Krazil, When are you planning to put them on?
Hopefully you guys can come to an agreement on these parts. I hate to see two people upset about nothing.
At work I deal with scheduling and typically as you may know, Vendors are never on time, but it is reassuring often times to have an indication ahead of time and also an exact delivery date. One thing, If possible, John, Provide Krazil with the exact day you can have this done. Maybe a gesture of goodwill include some added bonus for the delay. What if Kraziul has planned an appointment for installation and is now forced to cancel? Consider each others variables. John won't screw you over, but has run into an unfortunate situation, on the other hand Krazil has payed and wants to finish this up.
I suggest you buy each other a beer (on different coasts).
Vapor, maybe you are just too busy counting votes?

Let's see...$1000 at 18% annualized times the number of days since expected delivery equals roughly the amount of lost value due to seller's delay. You could even use a more "standard" interest rate, like prime. (I picked 18% since that's what vendors most often ask for.)
It would be within standard commercial practice to refund the interest on buyer's funds.

I'm right there with you, krazik-s2k, this is B.S.
VaporTrail, the moment you took the money from krazik-s2k, the part became his. A shipping delay is one thing, but you are now wearing out a part that belongs to krazi. If you didn't have the time to ship it, you shouldn't have sold it. And as far as unforeseen circumstances, you must plan for them in all business ventures, not try to B.S. your way out of them after they happen. If this had happened to me, I'd be doing more than posting a few restrained complaints.

<Shaking my head>
You guys crack me up. Wearing out headers...it's hard to get work done laughing this hard at an obvious automotive know nothing.
Its all about the principle of the deal John. I hope you can respect this kind of trust he has in you to wait this long.
I can only hope that by the time you sell your car, that you give it up once the buyer has paid for it. I would hate to see you get fried in court.
Speaking of court, since this transaction is taken across state lines, isn't that a federal offense? Anyone? Anyone?
