Get the newest you can afford. Nothing like being a first owner. I really want to get a brand new S2000 but am worried a year later they will redesign and make a better version.

On a sidenote, the 04's and 05's do everything better at the track.

Well, group think is in vogue here. Hey, I LOVE my 05...

 

i owned an 02 nfr for 2 years then i just bought a 05 suzuka blue other than a few cosmetic changes and an increase in engine size and torque they are both awesome machines. You can notice the torque difference in the 05 model but in the 05 model the v-tec pull just isn't as noticeable as in the 03 and earlier models. I do miss the 9k redline though. if i were you just test drive both, then decide for yourself. nonetheless any model you pick will be an awesome decision otherwise. good luck

 

I have owned a 2002 and a 2004 and kept the 2002. Keep in mind I have modded the 2002 so I am comparing it to a 2004 that we kept stock then traded the 04 for an elise!
I love my 02 and won't be trading it on anything else!!!!
I tracked both cars and found my 02 better on the track...

 

i think you should get the classic yr. 1999 S2k collectors edition.
