What's expected life expectancy of S2K before it starts to break down?
I recently bought my 03 BECAUSE it's a Honda that I expect to be driving for as long as I care to. Where I live there is very little dealer support anywhere less than 3 1/2 hours away. I detest excess computers in my car and I really don't care for anything powered except for windows. The maintenance on this care should be minimal as you are going to get and if this car fits your daily needs and driving profile I can't think of another car that will be as affordable as this over the long run. Check the CarFax, inspect it well (including the undercarriage), do some preventative maintenance to keep the top from wearing in the trouble zones and drive it like an adult. You'll be stoked..
I personally believe that any vehicle, properly maintained can last an extraordinarily long time.
The reliability of the S2000 has a proven track record (pun intended) for its class and then some.
I'm one of the few (or many?) that does a bit of preventative maintenance and the 5 years of owning MY04 since basically new (purchased with 7k on odometer in 2012), has been trouble free minus just needing a new battery a year ago.
--Sidenote: though I never plan to sell the S2000, I log my maintenance and even purchases for this car meticulously, keep it all in its own drawer and folders that document the date, items purchased, and when installed, etc. Pretty OCD I guess?

If the car has not been abused on track, strongly modded and then returned to stock for selling it, or lived in a very salty environment, a 2008 with 60k miles is in its infancy, if you take good care of it and don't mod it for much more power, you have a car for a lifetime. A well maintained S will get to over 200k miles without major repairs needed, the cylinder walls are very hard so just replacing piston rings and in the worst case the pistons themselves will restore any wear. Same with other major components like crankshaft, rods or camshafts, it may get to the point that replacing bearings is needed but replacing those parts themselves will not be required to keep the engine in good enough shape. Just keep a close check on oil level frequently, that's the only secret this car may need as stock (some don't even consume oil).
LOL, this is like asking if you should marry a girl that's 30 years old because she may not live much longer.
