What does the splice look like? You've done this fix to your car?

well, they can be many different thing depending on the size of cable. If you head to a small hardware store, you can probably find some little compression splices that you simply run each of of the broken cable into and squeeze together.

No, I have never done it in a car but a broken cable is a broken cable and in theory, it should work unless the section of cable that is broken needs to pass through any pulleys or collects onto a drum. Just make sure to cover it with shrink tube so it doesn't scratch the glass.

It's a temp fix.

From the picture of this guy's new regulator, looks like the cable runs into the black plastic sleeves leading to the motor. I dont know if the splice will fit into there?

Ah well, in seeing that, probably not. Just tossing MacGeyver ideas out.

hey thanks for the suggestions guys.

right now i have 1 of 2 choices.

1. buy one from honda with a buddy of mines employee discount. brand new, in box for 191.26 and do the installation myself.

or.

2. buy one that i found on ebay with a buyitnow for 69.00 but is from an 01 and could also be worn in the same spot mine was.

its a gamble with the used one, but a sure thing with the new one. One just cost more... hmm

if you do buy a used one, make sure it's from an 03+

i replaced my 01 window regulator because some of the ap1 regulators have an issue with the auto-down not working
