I've tried to take mine off and it a PITA..I stop for now. Do you just pull it off slowly or is there a method of doing it ?

UPDATE: I went back to my garage and pull it all off slowly. No paint damage / scratch underneath. Thanks God.
And I do like the look better. Didn't even know the frame is color coded too untill today.

How about paying for the paint job I had to have done by a local body shop due to the tremendous missing/sanded paint on my '05?
Wow, that sucks. Did you buy yours new?

BTW, the tape is a part number if anybody wants to put it back. A local had a bad experience with a body shop and they painted over the tape with black paint. Bunch of idiots. Anyway, I've thought about taking my tape off just to paint the frame black b/c the tape is almost greyish and I have a black hardtop it doesn't match exactly to.

Yeah, I bought it new and took off the tape around the 3 month mark. The funny thing is that part of my motivation to get rid of the tape was to avoid having any sort of weird tape-aging or problem with having the paint covered up for years. They had sanded the crap out of the frame underneath and painting or covering back up were the only options.

In truth, if you told me before I took it off that it would need painting, I'd do it anyway. The car just looks right to me without the tape.

I had a few scuff marks but they polished out with the lightest polish I have - buffed right out. BTW, I forgot to mention that I removed the tape when I order my "picture"

I took mine off last night, I was afraid I wasn't going to like it on my Rio Yellow and I have had mixed reactions from coworkers but at the end of the day it looks sweet, especially with the top down, which is the way this car is to be driven down here in Miami, FL hehehehehe

Overall this is a great "mod" that everyone should do
