I'm 23 (24 in 2 months), bought it last Nov, put $13k down with hardly any credit, and let me tell you...it was a b!tch to get financed so I'm wondering how you 15-18 year old bought yours. Hell My ex-girlfriend was 21 and went to Honda to buy a new civic and the finance department said they could only get her into a base model civic or a used car.
.But anyways

if you took a poll about the 16-20 year old, and the 21-25 year olds, i'm sure the average of crashes between the 21-25 year olds will be higher. (i hope that makes sense).
edit: i mean s2000 owners.

I love laughing at older people that get pissed that I drive the car that I do.. so when you pull up next to me.. know that deep down on the inside, I'm on the floor laughing at you..
I'm sorry that a few of you people didn't drive a S2000 when you were 18, does that mean you should be pissed off at the 18 yearolds that do drive them? I'd think that these people that are getting angry should act their age.. You honestly sound like a little 8 yearold that is mad because his friend got the super mega monster machine action figure for his birthday and you don't have one.... tough shit, grow up, stop judging people.. With some of these replys.. If their parents handed them a S2000 I guess they wouldn't take it.. they are too good, and only older people deserve them because they are somehow better..
I'll begin:
Shortly after I turned 16, I got a job at McDonalds, there I did register, then got to do grill, and when the maint. guy quit, I took over for that.. At 17, I worked for Sony doing Level 2 techincal support for pretty much everything they sell, at 18 I began working at Auto Accessory World, installing car alarms, remote starters, etc.. from there I started my own business, selling and installing Compustar Starter/Alarm systems.. I also picked up a job working at Delta Sonic(a car wash chain).. I make more money at delta than I did working at Sony and Auto Accessory World put together.. My best day I pulled $30/hour in tips.. not bad for a job on the side..
Currently I live in Rochester, NY, I live in a house with 3 other guys while I attend college year round (for computer, business, and automotive classes), I pay for my Rent, Water, Gas, Electricity, Cable/Internet, Cellphone, "Home Owners", Car Insurance(on two cars, 01' S2k, and 92' DX), and car payments. For income, as mentioned before, I sell and install alarm systems, and dry off cars at Delta Sonic.
I bought my S2000 used on ebay last fall, from a honda dealership in PA, I traded in my 99' Si for 12k down, and I make $280 payments for 5 years.. it came with a 7 year warranty, and a Lo-Jack security system. My insurance is pretty low, my insurance agent was best friends with my (2nd) father before he passed away, therefore I have really really decent rates..
I should have my car paid off by the time I'm done with college so I can start building some net worth for my future (mmmm 40 years of compound interest = something nice).. but I'm going to enjoy being young while I still am.
As for the comments about better drivers..
I guess.. I mean you have been around for 10+ more years.. so I'd hope you have more experience.. but you can't say you are a better driver than me, you have no idea who I am or how I drive.. sure facts say most young drivers are terrible at not causing accidents.. but when you come on here and say, young drivers with S2000s cant drive.. I take offence, so f* off.. I plan on attending some performance driving schools, both rally and regular road course type classes, just to sharpen my skills as a daily driver..
on the other hand.. a big
to the NYS guys for not treating me like I'm so different.. I'm just another S2000 owner/enthusiast just like all of you.. I don't see a reason for the hate..
and sorry if I made any spelling errors.. i'm sure you could find something more meaningful to pick on me about..
