The cable DOES NOT connect to the TPS. The TPS reads the position of the throttle plate, it does not read the position of the pedal. In the S2K the cable connects to a accelerator position sensor.

hi guys, i bought a used 06 few months back, and now im confused.
can somebody post a real picture of 06 DBW and/or DBC please??

so then 05 is cable driven correct? which makes me qualify for aem ems out there?

I wouldnt take the slack out. I know that in other cars I have worked on, the slack is there because of heat expansion and contraction as well as engine torquing in relation to the body and thereby the wire.
Almost every car I have worked on, whether it be carbuerated or fuel injected, has called for 1/8 to 1/4 inch of play in the cable.
Honestly, you arent gaining anything form the adjustment. People complain about non-responsive DBW because it takes the electronics a split second to translate your right foot movement into the throttle body butterfly opening. Changing the cable adjustment doent change that at all. All you are doing is changing the point at which the pedal engages... which is not curing DBW's inherent electronic delay.

And some manufacturers program in some DBW lag on their cars to keep the owners from beating on them and so they operate "smoother". One of my VWs had horrible lag, but after I chipped it the lag was gone.

Just for the record since I took a picture of the adjustment procedure for the 06+ for a different thread:
The spec for the amount of freeplay for the 06+ cable is much more than the 4-6mm of the earlier models, it is 15-18mm. So don't go taking all the slack out of your 06+ throttle cables please. Also just buy the damn service manual already.
